  • Comments: A fun race and a greet venue. Great race! I love the bike course. Run was not the greatest course, but not sure where else to put it. Volunteers were awesome and HFP does a good job. However, in this day and age HFP takes too long to post results. Also,I don't do races for the shirts, but that race shirt is terrible. Who wears an embroidered race shirt?

  • Comments: It would have been good with the heat to have had one more water station at the turn-around of the run, but overall it was good. Events weren't on time, but I can't bag on them for that because you can't control a truck overturning. Overall, it was just a really beautiful course. The water was surprisingly clear (at least in the deeper parts and in the shallows on the first lap before things got churned up a little), and the bike course had almost all newly paved roads with a ton of cool scenery. Even the run, for as brutal as it felt, was kinda beautiful.... in other conditions, it'd actually have been really nice and fun.

  • Comments: My time is still 10 minutes slower than it should be, My swim was very slow I'm sure, but it was comfortable. I think I did pretty good on the bike considering the hills and inclines and really enjoyed it. The run was way too hot and I totally bonked, but I still enjoyed it. Overall I really liked this race. Loved the really roomy open transition area. It was a beautiful area. Roads were good. People were the nicest and friendliest and most helpful of any event I've been too. They were so nice & helpful. No swag bag. No bibs. But really enjoyed it. Just wish I would have been at least 5 minutes faster. I haven't even broken 2:50 this year!

  • Comments: 1) Could have had a better bike course, last year was on better roads & less traffic - but some people missed turns. Also, found out later that the Park forced the last minute bike course change - they wouldn't open the maintenance gate. 2) Warm water at finish and pay for soft drinks - that sucks 3) awful food tent already picked over for those that do the longer event - although I couldn't have choked down much with the warm water. 4) directing cars to parking by going down a road with low hanging branches, when people have bikes on top of the car = brilliant 5) surprised so few people used the outdoor shower to cool off after the race...one of the perks of the site. 6) water is murky enough you can't see your own hand, but that is CC for you. 7) good crowd with good competition, and mostly well mannered and safe.

  • Comments: After the race I met another member of BT and I think my goal is now to add one person from the forum from each race I attend. This was a great race for me mentally. It was only my second Olympic, and I went from 2:45 at Deer Creek to 2:28 here! That is a PR by 17 minutes. If I could only do that again at my next one I would be in contention for one of those top three spots! :-)

  • Comments: I was a little dissapointed in the post race drinks and food, everything seemed to be picked over and chewed on. At least the watermelon was still cold, which partially made up for the warm water they had at the finish. Luckly I had ice cold powerade in the car that went down really good.

  • Comments: saw fellow BT'er Roywidget - somehow he identified me - must have been my sparkling personality (or the shirt with bananas on it) overall a good race with a PR swim , a decent bike and a crappy run. Good measuring stick for triathlon fitness. Close to an overall PR on this course. HFP - kudos for not being transition police like at Deer Creek. With the Girls Tri Too going on at the same time they kicked us out early at Deer Creek. This time they allowed us to stay with reminders to stay out of the way HFP- boos to you for nothing cold anywhere. It was cooler than expected for the race , could have easily been 10 degrees warmer if the sun wasnt behind clouds. They had no ice anywhere, even at the finish. No cold drinks, only air temp well water and heed. I watched a woman fall down and throw up being attended by paramedics (some mild heat exhaustion) - the only thing they could treat her with is ... air temp well water. This is both a safety concern and a my money concern. HFP has

  • Comments: I've done many HFP races over the years and have always been extremely satisfied with the races they put on. Especially since they are able to keep their prices lower than anyone else I've ever seen. With that said, I was a little dissappointed in a few parts of this race. The swim had to be a tremendous distance short of 1500 meters. I had a moderate swim at best and PR'ed by 4 minutes. Numerous other people said the same thing. 4 minutes means it was not only a little bit short but likely a couple hundred yards. After years of doing these races and with GPS technology, I just can't see how this can happen. I would love to see mile markers on the run and have them located properly. This seems like such an easy inexpensive thing to do especially with GPS. My first mile was at 6:55 and my second was 10:45. Lastly, the post race tent actually had decent food, but I couldn't find anything to drink. They had warm water from a water jug at the finish line, but nothing in

  • Comments: Overall a great race. However I do have two complaints: 1.)I wish they set up water stop tables on both sides of the running course, because there were lots of near and actual collisions as people were reaching across oncoming traffic to get water (I took a spilled cup all over my chest) 2.)They ran out of sports drink waaaay too early (cmon... on the first lap? Seriously?)

  • Comments: Suggestions to HFP Racing- You have posted registrants in the past on the website- please do so in the future Have some recycling bins available. I am not an Earth freak but the amount of plastic and aluminum cans we dump every race makes me sad. Thanks blue suit girl- not only are you built like an Amazon you kicked my ass by probably 8 minutes.

  • Comments: HFP always runs a good race and the price is great. Seems like they could've gotten the registration line through a bit faster but in the end it was fine. I enjoy these races and am thankful to have them in my area. I would always recommend an HFP race to any triathlete... experienced or beginner.

  • Comments: I was kinda disappointed that we didn't get our T1 and T2 times. Also, I wish they had an aid station somewhere on the bike course. Other than that, I had a good time at this race. The t-shirt was very nice.

  • Comments: Pros: set a new overall PR by nine minutes, set a new swim PR by 2.5 minutes, set a new OLY distance run PR by six mintues Cons: Set new low for bike time/speed, Goals: My A race in Sylvania is in a few weeks. I feel good about the swimming and running improvement. I want to hit 2:30. I must improve to at least 20 MPH on the bike Task: 1) get a professional fit. I have been riding and adjusting my bike on what I have gleaned from others and the internet (if it is ont he the internet it is true right?). I have scheduled a fitting to make sure I am in the proper position to get the most out of my bike ( a POS roadie with clip on aero bars but I know the issue isnt so much the bike) 2) Make biking a priority. It is #3 on my enjoyment list and also the most difficult to fit into the schedule. Between the fluid trainer and more road time I will log more hours.

  • Comments: Another great race by HFP racing. A wonderful course with a HUGE sandy beach and a large covered picnic area where the whole family can come out and enjoy the day.
