  • Comments: Good little race for a great cause, perfect race for beginners, and there were quite a few of those. New RD, he did a decent job but needs to work out some bugs. I really wish thye'd go to chip timing with the transition splits, but the RD insisted on finishing at Cajun Field, away from the start. Timer couldn't accomodate that with the chips. Overall, a good race and an annual tradition for us.

  • Comments: I decided to take up triathlon training a few months ago on the advice of a friend who races. I ran a few 5K's around 10 years ago, but like many, college,a job, marriage, a kid, and other things helped me put on too many pounds. I started swimming, walking, and cycling in june at 232 pounds. On race day in Aug. weighed in at 210. No one's fault about the crummy weather but now I have to wait until Oct. 25 for my next tri at becomming a triathlete. Should I consider myself 2/3 of one now? Ha Ha!

  • Comments: This was my first race last year. I enjoyed doing it again. Look forward to doing it again next year with the BEAR GANG! This was Dylan's second Tri, he'd rather be playing football, but I think he had fun. We were very proud of him. He came home, went to school for a Lift A Thon, Cook Off, and meet the "Rebels" night. He fell asleep at 10 while sitting on the couch. He work up about 12:30 Sunday, just in time for lunch! We wore him out!

  • Comments: Good race, brings out a lot of first-timers. Lose points this year because they didn't have any jambalaya. Third year in a row I won my AG, not many in it this year and one guy faster than me won the overall masters, so was taken out of the AG.

  • Comments: Good little race, good mix of first-timers, experienced racers and speed demons. Short, fast course, smooth surfaces and traffic controlled. Benefits the Miles Perret Center, a local cancer support organization.

  • Comments: Race was for an excellent cause, so I can't knock the lack of packets, race numbers, etc. Would definitely do this race again. And next time, I'll stick around for the awards ceremony!

  • Comments: Good event for a great cause. Short course makes it good for first-timers as well as thouse who want to blow it out and hurt for 40 minutes or so.
