  • Comments: If the weather was better, I am sure I would have hit, if not beat my 3 hour goal. Despite the hot weather, I enjoyed the race and actually liked the 6:30am start. Great organization, easy parking and race small enough not to feel overly congested or crowded at the beginning or finish area. I tried pushing it at the end but didn’t make it with the heat. I didn’t meet my 3 hour goal but I did pass Wal-Mart with 30 minutes to spare and I beat my last half marathon time by 18 minutes!! Well 18:47 to be exact.

  • Comments: I always love this race. Its small, challenging but still not too bad. I guess sorta reminds me of Boston even though I have never ran it. At the end is a little hill to really try and break you. Depends on how determined you are to get up it. Love the race.

  • Comments: This is a nice race and I might perhaps do it at a real race pace next year considering how well I did in my AG with just the 8:25 overall pace.

  • Comments: Some of the aid stations were kind of short, so I just didn't stop, but with the temperature and it only being a half (for me) it wasn't a problem. Getting out of the parking lot after the race was an issue because the only way out crossed the marathon course (still ongoing) so it was VERY slow going. Overall, I really like the feel of a smaller race, and the volunteers were great out there in the rain. The small food/finish building wasn't quite sufficient for the number of people finishing during the half (at least around my pace), but was probably fine for the marathon group (less of them, spread out more). They were actively trying to improve the flow while I was in there. I had a great race and can't really complain!

  • Comments: This was a very fun race. I could have done without the rain, which started around mile 9-10 for me. The race was well organized, though they need a better plan for exiting the fairgrounds. All exits cross the course, so at best only a handful of cars get out each time.

  • Comments: Good race, little different then the Baltimore race but you kind of expect that with the smaller town and considering the race did go off at 630 am

  • Comments: This is the second year that I have raced the Half Marathon here in Frederick, and the new course this year was much improved from last year. The only thing that I missed this year was the competition of last year. I ran the entire race alone.

  • Comments: This race was excellent. I will definitely be back next year. I do wonder where my $50 prize for my 5th place finish went, however. I received my medal at the awards ceremony but was never presented with my prize.

  • Comments: Great race. Nice course, great volunteers, amenities good, post-race food and drink good. Only changes I would like are more gel on course. Water stations sufficient, well stocked and easy to navigate. Very competitive field, or maybe the course and conditions just made everyone really super fast!
