  • Comments: Course was challenging, but many of my long training runs included rolling hills, so I felt like I was well prepared. Definitely not enough porta potties at the start area, nor enough volunteers at the water stops. The gear check was also a nightmare due to a lack of volunteers and organization - Travis waited a full hour for his bag after he finished the half.

  • Overall course based on my ability: Too hard

  • Comments: I think it is weird that they bus people to the end and let them finish when they didn't really finish. I also think it's weird that the marathon shirt says marathon and half marathon. Sorry but a mary is a lot harder than a half. I could still walk the day after my half.

  • Comments: I put yes for organized, but I think they need to do a better job of organizing the start. If they are going to have corrals they need to enforce them (I think people didn't want to walk down to the end corrals so they just jumped in where they saw a place). We didn't have any trouble getting in, but we heard a lot people did. Overall, I had a lot of fun at this race. I was slightly disappointed with my time, but when I look back at my training logs it's obvious why I ran what I did.

  • Comments: i had heard a few complaints about missing mile markers and no nutrition on the course like they had said there would be. i didn't notice any of these things because i had my garmin and my fuel belt. i really enjoyed this course a lot. for that alone, i would highly recommend this race.

  • Comments: I rated it the worst for the following reasons: 1) There were no gu's as promised on the first half 2) On the first half, several drink stations were out of drinks 3) The race course was poorly marked

  • Comments: This was very well done. Expo moved smoothly, the Metro ran early race morning to assist in transport to the start, things went off on time, tons of volunteers and plentiful water stops. Lots of drinks and gels were out at least 5 stops. Post race was adequate, I didn't stick around to check it out too closely. Good medal and race shirt. Very well done race. A good PR never hurts, either

  • Comments: So as I mentioned, this was my second organized run. It was a personal goal of mine to complete a half marathon. I'd only ever run an organized 5k in November of 2007. This was done as part of a "get in shape" regimen I started in which I lost 94 pounds over 6 months. My first overall goal of this half marathon was just to finish, which I achieved. My secondary goal was to finish in under 2 hours. I just did this as my total overall race time was exactly 2 hours, down to the tenth of a second. I really don't know how 2 hours ranks as a first half marathon, but I was happy with it. I think I'd run another one, but maybe next winter as I prefer to cycle in the summer time.

  • Comments: This is a pretty good race, I recommend it especially for half marathoners. You get to see the sights, the parking is easy, and it's decently run. Some of the aid stations were a little tough to get things from. One aid station actually was undermanned. But it didn't affect racers I don't think. One thing that was bizarre was that they seem eager to have people use the Metro to get to the race. Well, the start is at RFK Stadium, which can handle 70,000 fans, I think it can handle a measly marathon for parking. Parking was fine, and free. I consider it one of the easiest races for parking that I have done. The post race food isn't that great, but does have beer which immediately gets many people excited. Otherwise, you are looking at Gatorade, water, soft pretzels, and bagel bites. There are some pay vendors around, made me wish I had money. This is a pretty good alternative race to MCM. You get many of the same sites, but it's not as crowded, or hard to get to. This race
