  • Comments: Good course - nice to be on the streets. Course was well marked and had plenty of police to block intersections. Would like to see sports drink of some sort at the aid stations, even just in the second half of the race.

  • Comments: A good race. Improved 6:45 from Charlottesville. I was psyched to break the 8:00/mile pace, and I pushed harder than in Charlottesville, but my relative age group performance was actually slightly worse (62nd percentile here; 64th percentile there). I can do better. Encouragement from the guys was huge. I saw Fornoff and Westy at least 3 separate times on the course, and the buzz from all the guys beforehand was contagious. Schaefer's 1:45 prediction, although basically arbitrary, was exactly the focal point I needed to push harder than I wanted to. A total blast overall.

  • Comments: PR in this distance by four and a half minutes! Actually trying to train for the race paid off, who knew? It's my fourth straight Drake Half-Marathon, and I'll likely be back for number 5.

  • Comments: great race, not much for running races but did this for ironman training and may do it again just because i had a good time except for the weather, but hey, it Drake, what do you expect!
