  • Comments: This was the 28th running of the Norfolk Triathlon. It's a short distance race but I thought they were very organized and did a great job with communication. If this works into my schedule, I may have it on as a permanent addition to the calander. Great job!!!!

  • Comments: STRENGTHS 1. good accurate timing for each stage and transition 2. well organized 3. nice afterrace party/awards ceremony at godfathers pizza IMPROVE 1. have an athena/clydsdate group for women over 165 lbs and men over 200 lbs and let them start the swim first followed by the fastest swimmers.or have the 20 slowest swimmers start first. this gives some of the slower athletes a chance to finish in the middle of the pack instead of at the end. its frustrating to be one of the last finishers to come in and find that the event has all but closed shop and everyone is already at godfathers for the awards ceremony. 2. get sponsor/grant/funds to have bottles of water and gatorade at the end for the finishers 3. get vendor(s) with triathlon equipment

  • Comments: This race was shorter than a normal sprint distance yet the entry fee was $55. Thinking the fee was high I was expecting a nice shirt but it was a normal cotton which was disappointing. The entry fee did include daycare (which I didn't need) and a free pizza buffet which was where the awards ceremony was held. I would rather have a cheaper fee and not have to pay for entrants daycare or pizza buffet. The snake swim was also a big dissatisfier.

  • Comments: I think I might pass on this one next year. Event never seems to run on time (even after the delay the 30 second starts got out of whack) Don't like the snake swim and the road is pretty rough for about half the course which is hard to weave around with traffic. Also the race is now internet registration only which added $5 to the $45 fee. (I think to register 2 solo and one team I paid over $20 in fees) Evidently many others felt the same because this yaer had 93 entrants down from 210 last year. (Just the long course last year had around 140)

  • Comments: Started an hour late new to chip timing just did not seem as organized as other events I have attended.

  • Comments: I don't have any other events to go off of, but the race check-in took a little longer than it should have. The pre-race meeting was supposed to happen at 7:45, but it didn't go until about 8:15. There was not enough room in the transition area for all the bikes, and the whole transition area was full of little pebbles and even a spot with broken glass (that we brought to attention and had cleaned up) The Godfather's pizza buffet was too full for my friends to bother messing with taking their kids into. We also did not get our results until today (Monday). Sending out race numbers in the mail ahead of time, and telling you where they want you to have marks on you would ELIMINATE the check in process. Overall, it was a fun time though, and I will do it again next year. ;)

  • Comments: Overall, a good race. I wish that the results could have come in a little bit faster though.
