  • Comments: The crowds were the best I've ever raced in front of, and that includes the NYC marathon. Natick, Newton, Wellesley, Boston College, and the downtown area of Boston were all some of the most uplifting towns I've ever run through. While the run is loud throught he towns, there are areas of quiet -- and there wasn't much music along the route. A drum corps on one of the hills, a guy singing country kareoke in leather chaps from the back of his pick-up, some people blasting music from houses. The crowds, though, were so warm and sweet. Particularly the girls of Wellesley. The athlete village is phenomenally organized, though has less of a carnival atmosphere than NYC. Bag drop-off and pick-up is a huge strength. It took me less than a minute to drop off and then pick up my bag at either end. I heard the organization after the finish lacked a bit in comparison with previous years. True, NYC was better organized for family meet-up and then the inevitable waddle toward mass transit.

  • Comments: The people of Boston are really spectacular about this race. There are tons of volunteers and they all must be on crack or meth because they have tons of energy and they will hurt themselves trying to help you with anything that you need. The spectators and crowd support are truly remarkable as well--2nd to none. THE COURSE IS GNARLY!!! Don't let anyone tell you differently.

  • Comments: It's Boston. I've run two BQ'a and raced here twice. Both Bostons have been a disaster .... this course just has my number. At this point in my running career I just do not enjoy racing this distance. Seriously, when I run a good race and I ran a good time in the two qualifiers it just hurts. When it is a bad race it is completely frickin' miserable. Not a lot of positive aspects to me!

  • Comments: This race was everything you imagined and more. The oranginzer, the expo, the police, the volunteers, the crowd, and the other runners were so awesome. It was a privledge to be there and part of an event with 500,000 screaming fans and 250 media outlets. It was awesome. Another dream down!!

  • Comments: Even though this was a tough race for me, the experience of getting to Boston was a dream come true. The Olympic trials the day before, the bus ride, the athletes village and walking to the corrals was pretty amazing. I thought it might be a hassle, but it was great. Talked to so many cool people with goals of their own. Cannot wait to give it another try next year! Time to strategize.

  • Comments: It was really a great race and great experience. I am glad I took the chance and ran it. If I screwed up my Ironman some I am not too worried. Even if I do not finish the IM I will not regret my chance to run the race most of us runners dream about doing. I did not BQ and I do not care. I still beat about 200 people and I am happy about that. That is not counting those who did not finish until after the mates were shut off.

  • Comments: I had to rate this race as Best just because it is Boston! I missed most of the landmarks during this race (except the Citgo sign). But that was because I spent most of my time watching the spectators instead of the landmarks. I enjoyed watching the children with their hands out and reading all the signs. It wasn't my best race ever, but I was running in the Boston Marathon and I finished the race. There is NOTHING better than that feeling!!! :)

  • Comments: I can't say for me, personally, that this race carried the same sense of awe as Kona did. It is the largest sporting event I have ever done and will likely ever do. It does have an incredible amount of excitement surrounding and has, by far, the most amazing spectator support. Every inch of that 26.2 mile course was lined by enthusiastic spectators that made it so very special.

  • Comments: Boston was amazing. I was a spectator last year, and saw the crowds of people yelling, and cheering. It was an impressive sight from the side of the road. However, being in the middle of it all this year, and being the object of the yelling, screaming, and incredible support was truly awesome. The first half of the race was fantastic, and felt effortless. I had to keep telling myself to slow down, and save some energy for the Newton Hills. However, I didn’t feel like I was working at all as I fed off the energy of the crowd. I was high-fiving everyone I could, and just having a blast. Everyone was in good spirits as it was a beautiful day, and the energy was inspiring and contagious. To add to the energy, I was wearing a custom shirt that said “Go Scott Miller!!” on the front, and “You can beat cancer!!” on the back. As part of our quest to create positive vibes for Scott from every source possible, I figured if I could get thousands of people rooting for Scott Miller to beat cancer,

  • Comments: This is BOSTON baby!!! I LOVED the fans, the college crazy kids with the beers, the Sox fans with dry erase boards along the course updating us with the score of the Sox game (8-3 was the final - go Red Sox!) I LOVED the kids who wanted high fives and the ones handing out freeze pops and oranges. I LOVED the old men and women cheering for everyone. I loved the guy running in the Sponge Bob Squarepants suit. I hated the guy running in the Yankees uniform, but loved that the Boston fans still cheered and/ or boo'd him. I loved the hills (I was ready for some uphill after all of the down) I LOVE sealevel, I loved the chaos. I loved that I ran the BOSTON MARATHON in 2008, but most of all I LOVE the support I got from EVERYONE

  • Comments: Due to injury I ran very little from January through early March. I did a cram training program and basically trained for 1 month. If properly trained this is a good course for me.
