  • Comments: This was a well organized race and I want to say the water help was awesome. I would not have made it through the swim without them.

  • Comments: Like I said...I needed a race with an OWS for me to put my DNF from three weeks ago behind me. Going into the race, I didn't care if I placed last in the whole event, as long as I got through the swim. I know it was mainly a mental block, and I just needed to conquer it. I had a lot of friends out there supporting me and cheering me on, and that meant a lot to me.

  • Comments: Had a great time at this race. The closed race venue is nice...no traffic to deal with. They should make the run longer.

  • Comments: Good race and well run. RD needs to talk less though as people start to get antsy. Also with the swim they really could have used a first timers wave starting at the rear of the field. They caused alot of congestion on the course. The race was fun and I will definately do it again.

  • Comments: Another great Ironhead race. Jacks races are the most organized you'll ever find.

  • Comments: Jack always puts n a great race. When it comes to organization, he is right there. It was great of him to allow us to race on Sunday after the mishap of Saturday. Course was great! Can't blame the RD for the wind and rough waters. My only suggestions would be to have more than 5 port-a-potties and maybe a beter selection of post-race food. Other than that, fantastic race! Thanks Brandt for coming out and being the photographer and for cheering us on. Also thanks to Brian and Gary for being there. Congrats to all the BT'ers who raced today. Steve, Tommy and Jacob (who both took home some hardware), Bonnie who put her swim demons behind her and John who rocked the course.

  • Comments: A good event for a new-b like me. I liked the fact that it was all self-contained. Important note: I wasn't in a rush to leave but bad news for anyone who was - the park was closed to in and out traffic until 10 am. I really enjoyed my first race experience. I managed to not come in last. My two goals were to not drown and not finish last! I know, I am an overachiever. Can't wait for my next race!

  • Comments: I don't really critique races because as in all things in life, they are what you make of them. I enjoy myself each and every time. Even though I bitched and moaned (mostly to myself) that I didn't bust an hour, I wouldn't trade the experience and enjoyment for anything. You only get one chance at life, make the most of it. The first photo below is, from left to right, me, Ken and Tim. The next photo of me on my bike is going to be purchased and blown up to an 18x24 glossy, minus the large PROOF lettering, of course. I am going to sign it and send it to Lance Armstrong. I am such a giver, am I not? Photo #3 is me, Brandt, Brian and Ken. Below those are me doing the flying dismount and then Sabrina helping get the hitch out of my giddyup. WHEW! How was the popcorn? :)

  • Comments: It's too bad the city of Grand Prairie limited Jack in keeping this race in the park. Last year (and probably in years past) each segment was longer and it was a great Sprint. Otherwise, it was a great time and very cool to watch Greg complete his first Tri. Congrats beathogans!! You have conquered Cancer and your first Sprint. Lots more to do! Thanks to Jen and the Murphys for cheering everyone on. Especially since it was nowhere near Frisco and very early to have the kids all out there. Also, big thanks to Peter and Laura Dewey for racing and supporting Greg as he took on this challenge. Having all of you guys around made it very special for him. Peter even got some hardware!! Last but certainly not least, Congrats to my fast wife who tok first in F35-39!! Wow! Way to go J!!

  • Comments: My goal time was 59:20. I probably could have shaved 20 seconds off with some of the errors made at the end of the bike. Something to remember at the next race. My run is where I feel I need the most improvement. I've been working on it and in stand alone runs, I'm good. I need to incorporate BRICKS in order for the "race simulated condition" run to improve.

  • Comments: Thanks to everyone for the constant encouragement. It felt SO good to finally race again instead of talking about maybe racing and then bailing out. Thanks especially to Steve, Marcy, Marcy's mom, John, Bonnie and Aaron for the cheering section today. I now know what I need to do to get better, and I finally have a real, concrete reminder of how much fun this sport is; I had forgotten that over the past two years. Lots of work to do to get ready for the next race, which has a much tougher course and longer distances in all three disciplines. But I'm looking forward to it. I'm back.......
