  • Comments: Overall, a good triathlon to start the season. I was grateful to be able to have raced. Thanks to my friend having his wife bring his road bike for me to ride on.

  • Comments: As usual, I think Jack puts on a good race. Well marked, on-time, with on-time awards at just a decent venue that is spectator friendly. You know what to expect, not too costly, and just fun to have this short race.

  • Comments: This was only my second tri and my first OWS. The race was very organized and the volunteers were awesome. I never did find any Gatorade, only water. I did not really participate in the post race activities. I will definitely do another Ironhead race.

  • Comments: I like the small, local flavor of this race. It brings some truly fast people out who want to put the pedal to the metal and I love that. It's short enough to not take your whole day and really put some effort into it. I like the simple course and that it tends to run on time. Looking forward to doing it again next year...

  • Comments: This was my first time at this race and it was the usual Ironhead run race. It was definitely a fun, short, fast race.

  • Comments: Solid race. Jack always puts on a good race with the basics covered. I liked that there were only 300 (350?) people. Made for an easy, non complicated race. While it's a short sprint, it was fun. You know you can blow it out from start to finish! It was nice racing inside the park and not dealing with any cars or intersections. The pizza after the race was a great touch. The trophies were nice ones for the winners, thus I gave it a 5.

  • Comments: Get beyond the gruffness of Jack and you see a wonderful race director. He is anal about of lot of things, but when looked at closer they all make the race better for the racers. The only suggestion I would make is to have medals available though I understand that Jack may be trying to keep costs low to him and the racers. Maybe just doing them for AG and noobs.

  • Comments: Loved this race. Short and sweet but just what I needed. So glad to see everyone on the team do so well and some finish their first event ever. I thought it was well-organized and started right on time.

  • Comments: A good race and well put on, just like all of the Ironhead races. Jack was surprisingly friendly at this event. Kind of weirded me out. Anyways, I look forward to doing it again tomorrow!

  • Comments: Jack had the National Anthem played over the loud speaker before the start. Jack served 24 years in the Air Force. Alexander Wick, a 9 year old from Tyler, Texas entered and completed the event in 1:50. His mother swam, rode and ran with him every step of the way...classic. Some great memories...

  • Comments: Like I said...I needed a race with an OWS for me to put my DNF from three weeks ago behind me. Going into the race, I didn't care if I placed last in the whole event, as long as I got through the swim. I know it was mainly a mental block, and I just needed to conquer it. I had a lot of friends out there supporting me and cheering me on, and that meant a lot to me.

  • Comments: Good race and well run. RD needs to talk less though as people start to get antsy. Also with the swim they really could have used a first timers wave starting at the rear of the field. They caused alot of congestion on the course. The race was fun and I will definately do it again.

  • Comments: Jack always puts n a great race. When it comes to organization, he is right there. It was great of him to allow us to race on Sunday after the mishap of Saturday. Course was great! Can't blame the RD for the wind and rough waters. My only suggestions would be to have more than 5 port-a-potties and maybe a beter selection of post-race food. Other than that, fantastic race! Thanks Brandt for coming out and being the photographer and for cheering us on. Also thanks to Brian and Gary for being there. Congrats to all the BT'ers who raced today. Steve, Tommy and Jacob (who both took home some hardware), Bonnie who put her swim demons behind her and John who rocked the course.
