  • Comments: I like this race except for the run location. It is possibly the worst run course of any race I have done. The reason I have done it multiple times is that I love raising money for CAF. It's a great cause and the team camaraderie is great during the race.

  • Comments: Played with the family at Disneyland the day before so I didn't really get in on any of the shops, then I hit the bricks as soon as the race was over so i didn't get to chill for the after race party. Overall this race was fine.

  • Comments: Great race, good venue in theory. Unfortunately, bringing in 2000 athletes and their families is not an incentive enough for Disney to inconvenience themselves by allowing the run to go anywhere but the dullest areas of the property. Aside from the run course, this is a well organized and executed race and venue.

  • Comments: The day started with all the hope of PR and lots of adrenaline. In the end, it was Med tent and ice towels. I still PR’d pace on the ride – over 20 mph, PR’d pace n the run – 11:08m/m. Swim – not so hot – 42 mins?!?!?!?! But I did have 70.3 miles on the Garmin – but that did not include the swim. I had 57 miles on the bike and 13.3 on the run. That will add time. The swim was agreeably longer – not too far off. I guess?!?!? Overall, I had a great time – as far as pain goes. I survived the event even in the heat. I guess looking back I would have tried to force more calories and drink more Gatorade on the run. That would probably have helped avoid the blow up for the last 4 miles. BUT – I did listen to the body and did slow down to compensate, just not enough if I get wheeled from the transition area to the med tent.

  • Comments: Personally - loved this day bc I did something I never thought I could do and got to do it w/my fav person of all time. Often we 'plan' for the PERFECT race day...not sure it exists. This was a day of making adjustments and just doing the best I could w/what I had left. I finished. I finished. I'm happy w/that. This race was well-run and I loved it! I doubt I'll ever do it again...the heat/humidity was too much. But I was very impressed. This was teh BEST group of volunteers I've ever seen at a race. I never wondered where I was going or what to do...great instruction. Even better were the aid station workers...very encouraging and positive. WE NEEDED IT on that run. I still cant believe its over...no IF ONLYs here...just thankful that I can/did do it!

  • Comments: I liked this race. I think I should be able to go a lot faster on this course with similar weather conditions. Post-race food seemed thin, but I didn't really "investigate," I guess.

  • Comments: A big thanks to Jette and Isabella - for putting up with me for the last couple of days. - for cleaning up in T1 and setting up T2 at home. - for cheering on me as the only spectators. - for helping me reach my goal. - for my finisher T-shirt.

  • Comments: This was the best d@#! race I've been to! I had so much fun and a smile on my face the whole way. The volunteers were overwhelmingly awesome and gracious. I really felt like we were taken care of and cared about. I could not have asked for a better first HIM experience.

  • Comments: This is the second time that I did the race - first was 2007. There were a lot of changes, not all for the better. 1) The goody bag was misnamed - not goodies at all. In 2007 we received a sacbag and free socks. 2) I could not find the sun screen ladies - which is verified by my red shoulders. 3) Participants should be able to pay the one-day USAT fee when registering on-line. Paying at the race site was challenging to say the least. 4) The volunteers were good again. All were friendly and helpful. 5) Appreciated the number of police at intersections. 6) Like the bike course changes. 7) Plenty of buses. The biggest change should come on the run course. It needs shade. The other suggestion is to have offer a pasta dinner. For the price of entry there are not a lot of perks. I guess a lot of the money goes to Disney. I do like the race and would do it again, but with all the other races being offered it may be a few years before we go back

  • Comments: It seemed like all the distances were a little long, but, hey, who am I to say anything.... The volunteers ROCKED!!! (especially on the swim - thanks a lot) It is really cool to be a part of the triathlon 'subculture', there are a lot of really good people in this sport, which is nice to see... now to try get rid of the sunburn blisters on my shoulders - which is the most sore part of me right now..... It was the hardest thing I've EVER done in my life, but it also has made me want to do more of these, and still looking to doing IM-MOO in '09..

  • Comments: NAS was awesome....this race was very BOP friendly and now I see why everyone loves the Ironman branded races. The run course sucked, and if I never do this race again (despite it being local, a good time of year and cheap), it will be because of the horrible full-sun grass/dirt run. Check out my photo album for how nasty my shoes got. Thanks Lynn for the advise on wearing a throw-away pair!

  • Comments: This is a nice race, except the distances were all long. The volunteers were great. Disney races are kind of a cluster with getting there, the buses etc. I say I won't do this race again, but I probably will.

  • Comments: IM brand events are usually top notch. Except for the pain-in-the-ass transportation that being at Disney lends, this is an awesome race. Very well organized and fun. They just need to work on making the course a TRUE 70.3, not a 71.9. I'll do it again though.

  • Comments: I will not do this race again. I don't like how difficult it is to get around. The swim is fine, the bike is fine, the run is awful. I didn't like it last year, and I didn't like this year. I don't really like Disney to begin with, so it's just not the race venue for me. I still PRed by 11-12 minutes, but I was hoping to go about 15 minutes faster at this distance. I gave it all I had, so I am happy enough.

  • Comments: It's a well organized race, and the volunteers are fantastic. The bike course was much better when I did it two years ago, but the run is absolutely dreadful. I am disappointed with my performance. This is the first race I've ever done where I haven't improved the second time I did it. I'm thinking that my muscles weren't prepared for the hard push, and that maybe I need to push a little more in training - do some muscular endurance workouts. Also, major kudos to my husband for going with me (he is not a triathlete) and giving me great motivation on the run!

  • Comments: Was actually pretty disappointed with Ironman, expected more. Check-in was horribly disorganized, the expo was a joke, the aid stations were undermanned and running out of ice when I was on the course (people were out there for hours after me), the people at Disney seemed to have NO idea what was going on, there was no transportation from the host hotels to the start so wqe had to walk almost a mile race morning, etc, etc, etc... After being at Clearwater and seeing Ironman do it very right, I just expected more. I know this was an NAS race, not a corporate IM race, but IM should do more to make the experience consistent.
