  • Comments: Every distance was longer than it was supposed to be! This is NOT OK. people are pacing themselves expecting certain distances and when the bike is 2 miles longer and run was .8 mile longer this just isn't acceptable. I also heard a buoy came loose in the swim so swim was longer as well. 70.3 turned into 73.1 at least.

  • Comments: They did a good job on this race based on what I saw. Plenty of aid stations, good course marking/direction. Biggest problem was the brutal heat/humidity on the run. They also needed an aid station on the last section of the run when I went thru, but after a few of us mentioned it, the RD added an aid station for the remaining racers.

  • Comments: Honestly if your doing this race it should only be to prepare for Ironman Louisville. Otherwise it is a waste of money. There is a severe lack of aid stations, transistion wasn't even mowed, race started late, lots of confusion, and they ran out of water at some aid stations on the run. That makes me feel for the the slower people because I was top 25% and didn't get some water, what about the other 75%? Only do this if your doing the Ironman in Louisiville and are using it as training. DO NOT MAKE THIS YOUR FIRST HALF IRON!!!!

  • Comments: Great race and course. I think that I bit off more than I could choose by doing this course for my first ever HIM. Finished OK, just slow. No regrets, just slow....

  • Comments: was not a well organized or put on event. There were no potty's on the bike course...maybe one on the run course. Had to wait on the cars at the intersections due to no traffic volunteers or police...very dangerous. The run course was only about 12.3 miles not 13.1 and there was not even a finisher medal at the end. felt bad for a friend who was doing this as first Half...got shorted on the run distance and didnt even get a finisher medal. Would never do anything from this company again.

  • Comments: Small race group ,on a big venue area. Not enough support. One hill extremely dangerous. Ride was on open Traffic roads. I would do race again.

  • Comments: They could have used a little more help at one of the intersections out on the course, transition could have used a few more racks, and another port-a-potty would have been nice. But overall, a very fun day on a beautiful course. Was very cool to see last year's IMKY winner out there hammering! Hope to do it again next year.

  • Comments: For the price I think this was a pretty good race. It was only $100 and it was very small. I got the impression that most people were also doing IM Lou. I doubt I'd come back to race this HIM, but I got a lot from it that should help me next month. They started maybe 10:00 late, which isn't a big deal. They had enough aid stations for it being a cool day, might have been an issue if it was hot. I can't say I love the shirts or Hammer products that they offered, but that's a personal preference. And for a small race I thought there was a good amount of people out cheering. I'd recommend it as a good warmup for IM Lou.

  • Comments: Fun race and course and a great practice run for IMKY. The only complaint I have is that they really needed to have a couple of portapotties on the run course. There were zero and that's just not cool.

  • Comments: This race was good and bad. I'll never do another race with this company again. I paid $100 to do this thing. I didn't get $100 in race support. The volunteers who were on the course were great, but not having police support at those intersections is inexcusable. And not having volunteers in the finishing chute, the mis-measured run course and the running out of water at the aid stations, well, that’s also inexcusable. That’s all I have to say about the race company. I had hoped the weather would be a little hotter to get me ready for L’ville. It was mild that day and it helped me set a PR, so I’m happy about that, but I had hoped for some more strenuous training. I set a PR by 40:24, and I beat Jeremy, and that’s always a good thing. It was fun hanging out with Jenn, Amy, Tammy and their spouses. Overall, it was a good race with a bad race company.

  • Comments: I pushed myself hard on this race and am happy with the result. I enjoyed racing on a "practice course" for ironman Louisville. It is also fun to meet up with so many BTers. This race could be improved. The volunteer at packet pick up could not answer any questions about the race. They need to be informed. The race started late. The start time could be earlier. There were only 3 port-apotty's at transition and NONE on the entire course. The support on the bike course was minimal. More police and volunteers were needed. Despite the negative points about the race, is was fun. This is a great race to prepare for IM Louisville conditions! I had a good, fun race and a nice time meeting up with all the BTers.

  • Comments: I thought this was a really great race! It started a little late, but only because the RD answered a bunch of questions from the Racers. I was happy to listen to the extra info on the course. There were plenty of volunteers... even Heather Gollnick volunteered at one of the run aid stations for a little bit! There was plenty of water on the run, and with the exception of the first water stop right out of T1, the water was ICE COLD. They even gave out sports bottles filled with ice water for the athletes to carry with them. Heed was available ont the course - I'm not a fan, but hey at least they had something. They had plenty of gels, e-caps, water and coke. the volunteers were the friendliest ever! I did wish there was one more aid station on the bike course (there was only tw0). But other than that, this was a well prepared race on such a hot day (96 degrees). I will definitely do this race again!
