  • Comments: The best race ever in terms of organization, course and support. It is definetely a MUST and all the marathon around the world should learn from this main event on how to organize such races. A suggestion: stay at Sleep INN hotel in Brooklyn. Very cheap, convenient and on the raceday you reach the starting area in 20mins with a taxi for 40$. No need to go through the buses, ferry, etc. proposed by the organization and you can sleep until 5am.

  • Comments: The NYC Marathon is a really special race. It's crowded and the start logistics are a pain, but the payoff is worth it. I got a tremendous amount of support from my BT friends over the past few months as I struggled with injuries. You guys encouraged me not to give up even when things were pretty rough. I thought of you when I felt like giving up on my goal and it kept me going. Thanks to all of you for helping me end my season in the most memorable way possible.

  • Comments: If you would have told me 4 years ago when I was 255lbs that I would even start a marathon, I would have said you were crazy! I ran the NYC Marathon!! I am a marathon finisher!! My time goal was 4:35... not even close to that but my real goal was to enjoy the experience, take it all in and be able to walk and smile after it was over, and I nailed that one! This is an amazing race and I would strongly suggest that everyone do it at least once... it is the experience of a lifetime. Running through the streets and over the bridges of the city I love is amazing. OVERALL, IT WAS A GREAT DAY!! One that I will never forget regardless of my finishing time.

  • Comments: I really, really am looking forward to Steamtown in October. If you have not run a marathon yet, I would not recommend a monster marathon as your first - unless you only plan to run one. If I could do it over, I would have ran a smaller more intimate event, for sure.

  • Comments: For such a large event I really expect much better organization. The UPS bag drop off was chaios, the traffic was bad, the post race was a disgrace. It took me 45 minutes to get through the finish coral and about 25 mins before they would give us our "goodie bag" which consisted of a bottle of water, a bottle of gatorade, an apple, and the worlds worst bagel. Since it took so long for us to get water people around me drank half the bottle in one gulp and then threw it up. I probably saw at least 40 people throwing up water in the overcrowded coral. Don't get me wrong the experience is a once in a lifetime opertunity and is amazing to soak in the atmosphere and excitement. NYRR really needs to go to a well run event like the Marine Corps marathon and take notes. I am glad to have done this race, and definitely recomend to anyone, but I really do not foresee myself running it again.

  • Comments: Great race, great event! Its a toss-up between Boston and New York as far as my favorite races... I'm leaning toward Boston, Lilia is leaning towards New York. A special thank you to Lance Armstrong for running this race. It inspired me to be cheesy and to race hard. More importantly he inspires millions of people to overcome physical hardships with not only action but with money. LiveStong!
