  • Comments: Challenge didn't skip a beat from the Rev3 race experience. I thought the race was well organized. I love this course and the Challenge/Rev3 experience. SWAG was weak. Tee sweatshirt says triathlon on it in very small letters. It should have a big 70.3 or something on it. Same with the medals. But considering this was a warm up race, the medal and other stuff didn't mean much to me.

  • Comments: So before the AG Awards got underway, the MC indicated that like the Pros, the AG Championship awards were based on your series scores, not on how you performed today. Oh my! Dare I hope???? Taking 6th didn't exactly give me much, but there were only 7 finishers when there should've been 14 today. So, 7 guys didn't show and/or finish? Wow, did I have a chance here? Zach kinda wondered where he was too. Well, he didn't have long to wait as he took 3rd. Another HTD member there who took 4th ended up taking 5th in the AG series. Now it comes to my AG..."and in 5th place from Frederick Maryland, DAVE MILLER!" Oh-MY-GOSH!! I am all smiles in disbelief! Nearly all the leg soreness is gone and I bound up on stage to receive my Rev3 5th Place AG Championships Series award package - a BIG MEDAL (pic below), Blue Seventy goggles, $15 coupon for the Rev3 Expo store, 2 packs of Powerbar products, and a nice "Rev3 Winner" pint glass - SSSSSWWWWEEEETTTT! What a way to end the race!! All smiles I think

  • Comments: Rev 3 Knoxville had the Pro Series and AG series Championships, the regular Half rev and Olympic Revs, the Revie kids tri on Saturday, an urban adventure race, little rev kids adventure race, and the glow run and movie night under the stars Friday night for the kids on the big screen (over 800 people for the glow run.) Great time and lots of fun for everyone. Great racing and a tough but fair championship level course and a hybrid distance to help crown the series champs. Tim Don absolutely crushed the run going 5 min miles the whole way.and caught Cam Dye who crushed the bike. Awesome racing!

  • Comments: This is not a course where most of us are going to set a PR. Challenging bike ride. Don't underestimate the run course which can break your spirit. Good experience and will come back in the future but unsure if this will be a yearly event as it is a 11 hour drive one way from my location.

  • Comments: Rev3 dd a great job given the weather conditions. Rev3 staff was great. Volunteers were awesome (can't imagine standing out in the cold rain for hours handing out food/drinks all with smiles on their faces). This was my first half distance event. I'm glad I competed/completed the distance. It was as much mental as physical due to weather conditions. Already looking for next 70.3.

  • Comments: Despite the timing issues, long lines at registration, and a lot of walking around to check in, set up, and gather things together post race, Rev3 did a fantastic job, the positives FAR outweigh the negatives, and it was a great venue and event. The organization was outstanding, the course was safe and well marked, and things ran on time. In our race packets, we received goggles and a visor, race number tattoos for body marking, and our bibs had our name and t-shirt size. At the finish we received a medal, a finisher's shirt, and a towel. In addition, the race announcer called us out by name and home town, and our pictures were placed on a big screen that overlooked the finish chute. They also provided personalized name and number signs for our spots in transition. Rev3 treated us like pros. There were plenty of aid stations on the course with numerous volunteers, who were enthusiastic, helpful, and supportive all day. I suppose it is only appropriate that in the home of the

  • Comments: Overall, the course was really good. It's not a PR type of course in my opinion, and when I look at my finishing time it's clear to me that I have gained a lot of fitness since my first HIM last October. However, i'm just disappointed in my decision making that led to such a painfully (and just downright painful) slow run.

  • Comments: Mary and I dropped the three monkeys off with friends on Friday and drove down to Knoxville for the weekend. That was probably the nicest part of the whole weekend! There was also a large crew from Lex doing the race, and it was fun hanging out with them on Sat and Sun. Saturday included driving the bike+run courses. Bike had lots of technical descending, and the run course was hillier than I expected. The Half Rev started Sunday at 7:30 (male <40 + clydes), and my wave (old and frail men) went off at 7:35, followed by the women at 7:40. Thankfully, swim was uneventful, came out somewhere around 32 minutes, which I was pleased with. Shoulders and lats were fatigued though, so I need to keep working on swim endurance for the 2.4 mile swim in September if I don’t want pace to drop off… Got out on the bike and started settling in. At mile 2 I saw someone changing a flat. Always hate to see that, but this time it was one of my good training buddies. Damn! Asked if he needed

  • Comments: Yes the clock was reading from the start of the Pro race... so I dumped my self down on the floor absolutely spent and happy that I had made it under 6 hrs. Jane then came over with Isobelle in the stroller and while we were hugging she said 'do you realise how fast you have gone today?' 'yep, just under 6 hrs' I said looking back at the finish line clock. It was then that my useless mental math became apparent and I'd actually added 30 mins to my time. Absolutely spent, faster 13.1 than any stand alone time, PR for 70.3 by over 40mins, I was very emotional and very happy.

  • Comments: Great race. Really enjoyed the Little Rev Adventure Race on Saturday. The race was well organized and really liked the family atmosphere. Love that my son and I were able to run in together. That will be a lifelong memory that he and I will share!

  • Comments: Again this was a great event. Cool expo, meet and greets with the pro and Q&A. Great bike mechanical support (got a tune up day before the race), Kids adventure race, great Pro race (Olympic) with Matty Reed running down Cam Dye and passing him right at the end. My teammated Brian Fleishman and Richie Cunningham finaished 4th and 6th. Good race and the weather held on too. Hot as heck all week, then heavy rain Friday and Saturday, but it was cool and overcast on Sunday and the rain held off until Sunday night somehow. Highly reccommend this race!

  • Comments: Rev3 did an awesome job. I can't complain at all about their organization or the venue itself. The course was beautiful and it was challenging. The issues I had were self-inflicted due to not enough training. I'm pretty sure that I could have gotten away with doing Steelhead with the training I'd had, but then there's simply no comparison in terms of course difficulty with those two venues. Knoxville is very hard and not for the faint of heart. If you're looking for a challenge or are gearing up for an IM like Lake Placid or Louisville, I'd say this is a great race to practice with.

  • Comments: Rev3 Put on an excellent weekend. The entire event was really all about the athlete, and that is what I want in a race I am paying premium for. I'll be back for sure, if not to Knoxville then to another Rev3 event.

  • Comments: I prefer a challenging course, and this race did not disappoint. The events were well-organized. My only complaint is that we could have had better directions (course/transition maps; number application diagrams) in the packet (I felt the same way about the Ironman-brand race), but otherwise everything was great. This course would have been really tough if the weather had not been so awesome. Knoxville was nice and there were fun things for the kids to do. The finish area was super-fun. The announcer was tireless and it was cool to see people's photos on the jumbotron as they came by. I would definitely come back here.

  • Comments: Well organized, fun race all around. It is family friendly, as advertised, with an adventure race, water park, and playground on-site for the kids. The medals for the kids at the finish were an especially nice touch. Great volunteers, lots of aid stations on the run, could have used a few more aid stations on the bike. Special thanks to the bike mechanics, who put in a long day on Saturday! I will definitely do another REV3 event!

  • Comments: First REV3 event. They have some kinks to work out in registration, swim buoy placement, transition and they need to ensure the course isn't long. If you have kids and you want to bring them along, this is very family friendly.

  • Overall course based on my ability: Too hard

  • Comments: This is a hard course - seriously hilly. It's a great test for the HIM distance, but not a course to expect a PR. Be prepared for some serious climbing on the bike and decent hills on the run. Swim is hit or miss, could be a current or not.
