  • Comments: This Year there were parking issues that had not been there in the past three years that I have done this event. There was no roving medical so when I saw someone in trouble over half a mile from medical I ran and told them where she was. this is not good for a hot sunny course like this.

  • Comments: Good race just make sure you position yourself to start with runners of equal ability or you will have to pass a lot of slower people.

  • Comments: The usual Great Aloha Run race-a few runners and tons of walkers. I enjoyed running alongside the military guys and gals and chatting with them and thanking them for their service to the country.

  • Comments: Need to figure out a better way to seed runners. Other than that, no complaints. The race raises a ton of money for charity, and it's more of an event than a race anyway.

  • Comments: GAR is a typical fun-run. Some people running and lots of people walking. I still think they could use an aid station at about mile 2 for most of the participants. Having the first aid station coming around 6K is a bit too late for the distance.

  • Comments: Finished 441 out of 8478 Male finishers Good race in general. It was a little warmer this year than last which helped to not deplete the energy before the race. As always, I enjoyed the run but I think I definitely noticed that my run pace was not as good as this time last year. I'll always do this race as long as I am in Hawaii.

  • Comments: I expected a little more SWAG at the end of this race. I could have sworn getting a goodie bag with the typical do-dads inside. Not this year! The T-shirt and the after race refreshments were all we got.

  • Comments: A good race. I do wish people would stage properly though. I was within 20 yards of the start line with the quick runners and I still had a threesome of 60 yr old walkers staged in front of me that I (and hundreds of others) had to dodge around. Still a good race and I will continue to compete in it every year I am here.

  • Comments: A fun run! Good crowd. Was a timing chip race, but still stage yourself towards the faster end of your expected pace. Many tour groups walk/run this race and they do clog the start.

  • Comments: Felt like the start could have been more organized and then afterwards was a bit confusing. We were meeting at the lost children stand but couldn't find it!! the t-shirt area/snack area got a little jammed up - still overall I was happy to get a banana!

  • Comments: I knew the first couple miles would be very crowded, slow pace, so my goal was to keep in the 8+/min per mile range, finish under 70 min. Lot's of gas left at the end, believe I could have finished under an hour if I'd started closer to the front, been faster the first couple of miles.the 1:04:35 time was off my watch from crossing the start and finish line mats. Haven't seen the official results yet. UPDATED. official results 1:04:32, placed 608 out of 22,330. The top 300 runners were under one hour. Male 523 out of 8834, M40-44 76 out of 1032. 19,861 finishers out of 22,330 chipped runners. Additioaanl 4800 military and 1336 non chipped runners.

  • Comments: there just didn`t seem like enough water stations. The first one was at mile 3.1, but after standing in the rain for so long I think alot of people would have liked one a little earlier. I think they should have announced and stressed the point of walking on the right to let runners through.
