  • Comments: I was very pleased with this race, the finish line was great with all the support, for a moment I felt like I was doing an IRONMAN (well maybe not exactly, but the support at the transitions and some homeowners on the course was uplifting....the scenery does not get much better on Long Island....

  • Comments: Great race, I have been wanting to do this for a couple of years and I was finally able to do it. The course is beautiful and challenging. I will hopefully be able to do race this one again and again.

  • Comments: Really happy with today's effort. It wasn't a course PR, but it was a personal best nonetheless because I can honestly say that this is the first time that I raced a complete race.

  • Comments: This race was well organized and fun. With the exception of them not realizing that they have the distances incorrect it's a great race. You would think that since they run this every year they would know the bike course is not 22 miles. Strange.

  • Comments: I have very mixed emotions about today's race. I am very disappointed that I didn't break 2:30. Especially since I did so much work this year on my running and I have gotten a lot faster over long distances (at least I have my PR in the half marathon to hang my hat on). I did still finish in the top half overall, and the top half of my age group, which is always my goal. I just think they could do a much better job organizing this race and providing more on the course.

  • Comments: Montauk is a magical place at "the end" of Long Island. It's absolutely georgeous all around. The bike is the real beauty as you ride out to the very tip of Montauk, past the lighthouse, and back. The course if very fast but has it's hills for sure. I will definitely be back next year and I'll be looking to shave some serious time off now that I am familiar with the course.

  • Comments: Great race for me. I improved over last year and last year's race was actually shorter because of the shorter swim. This is the first time that I can honestly say that in an olympic distance race that I really, truly, gave everything I had. I worked hard on the swim, pushed beyond what I thought I was capable of on the bike and left it all out there on the run. I am very pleased with both my effort and performance. Another race and another measurable improvement. I know that at some point the improvements will stop, but for now, I know I can still get better and faster.

  • Comments: Again, this is my first time running this event and this distance. It was fine for me. Hope to have more meaningful comments when I get in some more races

  • Comments: what a disaster. what luck - how can my spare be bad too! I was quite happy that I was able to successfully change the tube on the back wheel- which I'm happy about anyway. Figured since I was there I would at least get the swim in, but it was depressing as hell. Had no time to warm up litereally in the cold water.. so had to paddle along until the second bouy. Not the way I pictured my second tri. REALLY disappointed.

  • Comments: I'm not sure if I'll do this race a gain in the future. I hate the fact tat you have to drive all the way out to montauk to pick up your race packet on Friday and drive all the way back out again for the race on Saturday. Montauk and Hamptons traffic is a nightmare!!! I know you could stay over, but it's like $250 a night with a minimum 2 night stay.

  • Comments: This is a smaller, simple race. There are no professional photos, no medallions, no professional pre-race profiles. But everyone is friendly and they are well-organized.
