  • Comments: I've always like this race because it's very challenging. Flatlanders need not apply. I was glad to be back after missing last year due to IM Wisconsin. I do believe I am a better triathlete now than in 2006 however the clock doesn't show it so there is more work to do. It was awesome seeing so many of my friends/training pals here. It's amazing how many more people I know in this sport just a few years later. And it's also been great to watch them all excel too. A final note and tip of the cap to race management. Active.com screwed up my registration way back in April and we never noticed it until Friday before the race. I brought all my gear but was not having much hope that I would be able to get into this race. That would've been ok, but I really wanted to race and see where I am training-wise. The folks who run this were very gracious and accomodating and got me in. They even got me a t-shirt at the end of the event although they told me upfront that it wasn't guaranteed.

  • Comments: The race was great. My only complaint was the volume of cars on the road and the narrowness of some of the bike course. Great race though.

  • Comments: The volunteers were very enthusiastic! It was a well done race. My only negative comment is that there was a lot of traffic on certain portions of the bike course.

  • Comments: The usual high quality GA Multisports event. Tugaloo is a favorite of mine. Hard course, but a great test. This is my season ender :( I feel that after an overall below average Triathlon season, that I am ending on a high note. Can't ask for much more than that.

  • Comments: The race itself was well run as usual. The only thing I would have changed was the red caps that the swimmers were suposed to wear. Through the fog they looked too much like the buoys. If the race was the begining of October it might have been a little cooler which would have been nice.

  • Comments: This was my first Olympic distance and I learned a lot today, but more or less this course really just chewed me up and spit me out. My lack of bike skills is discouraging even though I am still a rookie. The bright side to a race like today is coming out here and getting my ass kicked like that just makes me want to work that much harder. Even though this race got me good I still had a good time and it's fun to see familiar faces from other local events.

  • Comments: Great course, well organized, great volunteers and participants, nice size. I just wish I would have realized I needed to pick up my T-shirt and gotten there before my size was gone!

  • Comments: Great race. I did this race to learn to manage my resources for my HIM next month. I ate right and stayed with my run walk to ensure I had enough in the tank to do more. So, I am on track for my HIM in Oct. I am feeling much more confident.

  • Comments: I was a little disappointed with the support available to those of us at the end of the race. The time limit was posted as 4 1/2 hours, but much of the support was gone before that. I finished under 4 hours and when I crossed the finish line the photographer had already left. No finishing photo for my first triathlon. :( My partner finished under 4 1/2 hours, and they had already taken down some of the course signage by the time she was finishing the run. She actually ran longer than she needed to because they had removed the cone that marked the turnaround headed back in from mile 5! I understand that they need to start cleaning up after the designated time limit. But people who finish within the timelimit, but at the back of the pack, ought to get the same support as those that finished at the front. We pay the same registration fees and do the same course. At least leave the course put together until after the official time limit.

  • Comments: This was the first year that I ever ran Tugaloo. It was a great race and even though it was very hilly, I would do it again. The volunteers were great. My times were not real good, but I finished and hopefully next year I will have a great race.

  • Comments: I would like to request portable restroom facilities somewhere on the run course. It was such a pain to try to find somewhere to take care of emergency business and I am sure that I am not the only one to have to deal with this.

  • Comments: My max heart rate during the race was 178 and my average heart rate was 159. Overall, I really, really enjoyed this race. I experienced a huge sense of accomplishment upon completion. I was nervous about this race so facing that fear and finishing it was a great feeling. I am so inspired by the kindness of fellow racers. I heard so many people say "good job", "keep it up"", etc. it is amazing. This sport is made up of a great community of people. I'm honored to be a part of it.

  • Comments: I'm so happy with my performance today. It was a tough course...lots of hills on the bike and run. But I had one of my best races this season. I managed to get 2nd in my age group, which totally shocked me since this was the state championship race with lots of good athletes. Now I know why everyone loves the Tugaloo race. I've heard so many people tell me it's their favorite. It was a very challenging course, but the scenery was great. And the tough course made it even more rewarding once you finished. It was well organized and with good food at the end. GA Multisports once again put on a great race. I will definitely do this race again next year.

  • Comments: I had a lot of fun during race. Smiled lots and thanked volunteers. Posed for pictures and waved arms to get crowd involved. Really enjoy racing and didn't focus on time too much. I'm not in a position to win, so it was a lot more fun to enjoy the experience than to worry about my time. But even so, got a PR for the race! Did not inlude 2:00 minute penalty in my time because it was for safety reasons I got too close on the bike and/or crossed center line.

  • Comments: One more or so on the bike path would have been wonderful. Obviously I was more sensitive to this issue, as I had no fluids with me during the race, but previous races of this distance and heat had two water stops, which I've come to accept as the standard.

  • Comments: Yes! My first OLY... I was really happy about my nutirition and hydration for my first Oly. I make my goal of <3hrs. I had fun on the swim and bike, but disappointed on the run. Overall, I had a fun time and this was a great race with good support. I plan to put this on my calendar for next year.

  • Comments: I love this race. It was the first race I ever did (3 years ago). I think being part of the USAT Grand Prix series really stepped up the level of competition this year. The winning time was <2h, which is pretty impressive given the long bike course and all of the hills. Overall, a well run race that I would highly recommend.

  • Comments: I was not as careful with my nutrition on this tri and consequently, I paid for my lack of planning. When I got home, I started getting a headache and I knew that it was due to dehydration and I couldn't do anything the rest of the day. I didn't drink enough today. I didn't even finish the 2 bottles of Gu on the bike for some reason. Since I'm a heavy sweater, I need to definitely take this seriously. This first season was all about learning more about the sport and myself in it. I think I have a lot better idea of what to expect and what areas I need to work on for the next season. I am happy with the overall result of the four triathlons I raced this year. Although Tugaloo turned out to be the slowest time, I am okay with that b/c it was also the most challenging course. I had fun doing it. I am looking forward to next year and the improvements I expect to see. Next year will be all about fine-tuning my training and getting serious with the serious stuff like heart rate

  • Comments: Kudos to a better shirt this year. Well, actually that it was a shirt and not some house painters jacket. I like this race because it's hard and at the end of the season so it let's you put all your chips in. All the racers were good sportsmen and I saw very little ego getting in the way of a great race. I am not sure if I'll be back next year because of IM WI but I will definitely come and cheer on the crew. While not a PR at OLY distance I was pretty close on a harder, longer course. Yeah!

  • Comments: Another successful event by GA Multisports ... hope that they can alter the course enough to prevent the problems with the cyclist and runners, but other than that it was a very smoothly done race.

  • Comments: Tugaloo is a really good race. It's a difficult course, but that's what I want in a race. Sometimes easier, sometimes difficult. I sign up for this one knowing what it's all about. I'd like to do it every year, but next year it will probably fall within a week of IM MOO. Chances of me doing it are slim. This is my Oly PR and I could not be happier with how my day turned out.

  • Comments: Another fine event by Georgia Multisports. I totally enjoy their races. Also would like to thank Tricomet for cheering us on and taking pics. She did a great job. Well, she got a lot of guys I don't know, but that was good.. for her.. and steamy.
