  • Comments: This race continues to grow and improve. Challenging course with plenty of support, volunteers were numberous and did a great job. They had alot of the local tri club members working instead of racing and having triathletes as volunteers improves the quality of the work. Good party, plenty of beer, music. Awards were pretty quick. Only complaint is they try to make you pick up packet before the race which is a pain for the semi locals. We had a fun bunch at the race and worm got his revenge on me today. He even beat me on the bike. I don't mind him beating me, but he shouldn't beat me on the bike!!

  • Comments: The lengthening of the bike and a tide that was a little up made this race much more difficult than last year. Good Race!!!

  • Comments: Fun race, lots of friends here. Also met Gina, one of my mentees and Ben a first timer from the board. Gina's daughter rocked the race. Tons of door prizes, including a bike. Well run race, started 5 minutes late but no big deal. The bike course changes made it safer and more challenging. Beer lasted till the end of the awards and food and massages were available. Only negative to me is the mandatory packet pickup the day before the race. I only live an hour away and had friends I could stay with but its still a pain for a sprint where most of the racers are 2 hours or less away.

  • Comments: First - Most of our closest friends are at this race and that always makes it more fun. The women in our group all got trophies and the overall female winner is a good friend too. Organization - They brought in Eventtech to manage timing for the race. They did a terrific job. Historically, this event and its predecessor were marred by issues with timing and transitions. The team that put this together did a great job. Officials - They did a great job of monotoring the drafters. A fair # of penalties and visible motorcycles on the course. Again an improvement over prior year. Volunteers - plenty of friendly and helpful volunteers. Post race party - Good dee jay and lots of door prizes. We won a strapless HR monitor.

  • Comments: I really liked this race alot. My favorite tri this year. Its a course thats challenging enough for experienced folks and short enough for newbies. It sells out pretty early so plan it well in advance. Positives o Met Will (Memphis) from BT before the race and talked a bit. Didn't find him after race but he had a good time. o Well marked swim course o Challenging bike, not the standard flat out and back we get so much of down here o Rainy run o 25 massage therapist (only waited 5 minutes and got a 15 minute massage) o Friendly volunteers and lots of spectators o Fun race party, live band, lots of folks o Tons of Door prizes, including a Felt bike (I didn't win again) o Split awards o 5 minutes between swim waves spread out the bikes nicely combined with the hills cut out the pelotons o Erica Polllack (elite racer who founded this race with her husband) as race MC, she is a blast Negatives o Automobile traffic on bike got bad as the raced progressed.
