  • Comments: My wife did the 2 mile walk and told me afterwards that she is going to run a 5k someday. I hope she does so badly, she is a better athlete than I am, but smokes, doesn't jog/run. I love her and was glad to be with her. She can do it and I'll do whatever I can to help. Never again will I leave anything on the course, what a terrible feeling, knowing you could do better.

  • Comments: fun race, very congested, but after the first mile i knew i was gonna break the 8 min/mile barrier, and # of racers didn't have anything to do with it ;)

  • Comments: It looks like an awesome race to be in when it's not raining with a cold front coming in. The temp probably dropped 15 degrees from race start to 60 mins in, so that cut down on the festivities. Did I mention it was lightning as well :) Seriously, it was a fun race. If you can't enjoy running in the rain in April, you aren't alive.

  • Comments: This race is awesome, so many people that come back for this every year. Wish the weather was better, but great to see all the athletes out there cheering everyone on, the band playing for every wave when they take off, and then ending in camp randall is awesome. Love UW-Madison!

  • Comments: The good: The wave start is done well and it was easy to run at a good pace right from the start, despite have 19,000 runners or whatever. The course is good, with some hills and some flats. Good variety. It might be scenic too in the middle miles, because one of those lakes is nearby. The bad: The finish line could use a few more refreshments. Orange slices and bananas are tasty, but that was all that was available. Oh yeah and beer, but I can't drink too much of it if all I had to eat was 100 calories in fruit. I didn't like finishing in the stadium very much either, because getting onto the field is awkward (a sharp left followed by a steep downward incline and then a step up at the bottom) and everyone was immediately shooed up to the bleachers after finishing anyway. Once we were in the bleachers there was no way to exit except to cross in front of the runners, and they surprisingly didn't like that. The ugly: The weather this year. If rain is in the forecast,

  • Comments: I would have stayed for the post race activities had it been warmer or at least sunny. That was a bummer cuz I wanted to see the Love Monkey's. Maybe next year.

  • Comments: Great event. Live music in the stadium, lots of volunteers and MORE PORTA POTTYS than any race I've ever been to. That was key since I peed a lot. I really had fun at this race. I will be a regular every year.

  • Comments: Fun race. Over 15k participants this year. Easy check in, only hassle is checking in one place, starting another, and finishing in a third. Probably walked another 3 miles due to this. The weather was fantastic, sunny and warm, mild winds. The band this year, The Mighty Short Bus, was awesome. Great party in Camp Randal after the race, including free beer. Had a couple and again that probably wasn't a great idea as it probably contributed to the headache I had a few hours later (I drank three bottles of water before beer though!). Not an A race for me so I'm not bummed about it but I know that the social stuff going on this weekend impacted my performance. Was hoping to finish strong but I'll have to keep working on the mental aspect of my racing too.

  • Comments: Disappointed with the number of volunteers and medical help. We saw someone a few years ago who had a heart attack. It seems like it would be fairly easy to have someone with a radio at short distances. Lots of people who are not in the best shape do this event. Other than that it was, like every year, a great time.

  • Comments: Free beer and music at Camp Randall at the end make this a great run. There are always a ton of people. Over 15,000 participants and 9,000 runners.

  • Comments: I love Crazy Legs every year. The only tough part is all the people at Camp Randall afterwards. It makes it tough to get to the food and drink stations up in the bleachers!
