  • Comments: All in all this went better than I was expecting given how stressed I have been and how little training I've gotten in. I had fun, and it helped me to remember why I enjoy this sport :).

  • Comments: There was very little food after the race. I appreciated all the freebies--shampoo, water bottles, etc. But not enough food.

  • Comments: Everything was great other than the drink stations were really one drink station and could/should have been spread out a bit more (or add 1 or 2). For a 1st timer this otherwise was an exceptional race and experience!!

  • Comments: Superbly run race! Has to be one of the best races I've ever been too. The race directors and volunteers really did a great job with this one! Would love to do this race again.

  • Comments: This race was amazing - beautiful course, great volunteers, great crowd support, great music, excellent post-race festivities. Many little touches like personalized motivational message on the number marking your transition area. Fabulous schwag - great shirt!!. Hands down the best race I've experienced/been to, and it's already in my calendar for next year. I am also going to make it my first half-ironman when 2011 rolls around. I'm recommending it to everyone I see.

  • Comments: Just a great race - this ranks right with Columbia and Reston as one of my favorites. Pretty course, good crowd, well run, etc. So many nice touches - personalized messages on bike racks, great long sleeved tech tee and other fun giveaways (cowbell!, nutrition, shampoo, conditioner, etc), good food after, fun awards, etc. Would definitely recommend this to anyone considering doing it.

  • Comments: I just love this race. 700 registered athletes (666 finishers) and they managed to have everything completely organized and on time. The volunteers were fantastic, and the whole town really comes out to support everyone the whole weekend. I would recommend this race (or the HIM) to anyone.

  • Comments: I had been casually running and biking, but really I did less than two solid months of training - I can't complain about this result. The course was great and so were the volunteers. I really enjoyed the experience and I'm hoping that I can get my girlfriend to do one with me next summer, although it was nice seeing her along the course : )

  • Comments: Very good race, really enjoyed the environment that is created there. Swim was a little funky in the canal but was deep enough to actually swim in it. Gonna give doublemussel a try next year hopefully and experience the whole weekend!

  • Comments: My best race ever. It's number 5. Very, happy with the swim was able to freestyle the entire race. At the end of the run I noticed my right shoes was full of blood. Must have cut my toe at the swim finish. Three good slice in my big toe.

  • Comments: Other triathlons that I've been to as a participant and as a spectator have had booths, vendors, etc. There weren't any, so if you go, be prepared, you won't be able to buy any body glide or socks when you get there! Otherwise this was a very well organized event. Great food too!

  • Comments: I'd never do this race again because of the drafting penalty that was unwarranted and unfair. No aid stations along the course until 1 mile into the run really sucked.

  • Comments: I had an absolute blast. I don't think I could've picked a better race for my first triathlon. I will definitely be back next year. Also, hanging around afterwards and watching the pros race in the ITU Pan America Cup was a nice finish to the day.

  • Comments: It's a lot bigger than 2004, but is still a fun and well organized race. I wish they had massages rather than chiropractic care though! Thanks to all the volunteers that came out- especially the BT folks at the run station- I think I was too tired to say thank you by that point!
