  • Comments: This was the best run I've had in ages. I was 90% on. I felt today for the 1st time (in 4 years of doing multisport) that I'm actually becoming a runner. I enjoyed myself completely- and I discovered the joy of running. Really.

  • Comments: This was a PR for me. I set out this year to become a better runner and I think I'm starting to see results. I have never broken 8 min/mile in a race. I felt really good. I wasn't breathing very hard and my legs had a lot left in them. I wondered if maybe I could have ran a little harder. Either the course was a bit off or my Garmin was. Or maybe I was just zigzagging. ;-) Lap Time Distance Pace/Speed AHR MHR 1 07m 55s 1.00 miles 07m 55s /mile 155 166 2 07m 29s 1.00 miles 07m 29s /mile 167 171 3 07m 58s 1.00 miles 07m 58s /mile 166 170 4 07m 52s 1.00 miles 07m 52s /mile 168 172 5 07m 32s 1.00 miles 07m 32s /mile 173 178 6 00m 14s 0.05 miles 04m 36s /mile 178 179

  • Comments: Really fun- lot of amatuers out there. It's always a big difference between a Tri and a regular running race. Definitely would do this again next year.

  • Comments: This was my third or fourth Cherry Creek Sneak. It's a nice race to start the spring, plus a pretty quick Bolder Boulder qualifier (if you need one). Very easy to get into/out of, convenient location in Denver, nice flat course. Packet pickup was inconvenient, I think next time I'll just pick it up on raceday. Good size for a race that doesn't require qualifying. 3800 runners in the 5 mile, another 3000 in the 5k.

  • Comments: For my first "Sneak," I have to say that it's just a wonderful event. Other than some idiot yelling at his tiny young son to run faster (doing 7 min/miles at age 7 isn't fast enough?), the participants were excited, friendly, and seemingly very proud of their accomplishments at the finish. Warmer temperatures at the start would have been a bonus, but this was a great way to start a Sunday. I had no intention to enter this race, but I'm glad that I did it as a quick little speed check/confidence booster.

  • Comments: Well that is it! Another PR to end my training cycle. Next week I will attempt to go <2:50 at the Colorado Marathon in Fort Collins. This race served me well to build up my confidence. I'm ready!

  • Comments: Goody bag contained a Detour Runner Bar that I really liked. It was chocolate peanut butter flavored and had "MicroLactin" in it for joint health. Other goodies: Mahatma jasmine rice, mini Cliff bars, Cliff Shot Blocks, Team In Training brochure, notepad from Rocky Mountain Health Plans,10% off coupon at DS Additions,Coupon for a free appetizer at California Pizza Kitchen, 50% off coupon for sunglasses at Haber Vision, $10 off coupon at Sports Authority, and various other fliers all in a black Sports Authority bag. I'd rate the Goody Bag a 9 out of 10.

  • Comments: This sure makes me nervous for the Olympic distance tri I signed up for in August ... hmmm ... lots of training needs to happen before that little event. I love Denver because it's got so many cool activities like this for families. This was the 25th Anniversary of the Cherry Creek Sneak but the first time I've participated. Yeah. I was a little on the lazy side until last year. The event was well run with plenty of aid stations, police on site, volunteers, food, live bands, lots of parking, and people cheering along the whole route.

  • Comments: Huge race - Not much of a sneak with around 10,000 people, but I find these big races alot of fun even if it does mean you are picking your way thru alot of people.
