  • Comments: I may have hit the wall during the run, but I had a great race. This was my first 70.3 it kicked me, and I feel like I kicked it right back. I'm going to work on my swimming speed, and my running capacity. I'm not sure if this length fits in well with my schedule, or if I should stick with the Olympic and Sprint distance races.

  • Comments: DNF was a tough pill to swallow. It took me several days to come to terms with it.. I had put in a lot of work to make that day a good one and it was a huge let down to not perform.

  • Comments: A big shout out to all the volunteers. Thanks! I know that I didn't get a chance to say it enough on the course. Plus a shout out to the Police Officer manning the College U-turn. Each lap he was joking it up with everyong.

  • Comments: This race was awesome and the Lifetime improved the course immensely. THANK YOU!!! I was on target to finish at 4 hr 28 to 29 min....way off my goal of 4:25... but I would have won 1st place in AG and be the defending Lifetime Point Series Champion. This hurt and sucks.

  • Comments: This was my first 1/2 in 5 years since a broken ankle at a race. I went in to it with a stretch goal of 5:20 and ended up 5:05:44 so to say i am happy with the race is an understatement. previous half was 6:02:45 so i am ecstatic about the result.

  • Comments: Since this was my first 70.3 event, a lot of nerves leading up to the race. Had to mentally remind myself to trust my training, and get into a good mind set. Kept repeating throughout the race that I was feeling AWESOME! Great race and atmosphere. All volunteers were wonderful and happy people. They deserve a big thanks and a pay raise!

  • Comments: Great race. Bike course is goofy but the positives outweigh the negatives. Lifetime appeared to also step their game up in the transition security dept which was good to see. I would recommend this race to others.

  • Comments: This is an easy race for me to do as it's so close to home. It's well put on and fun to do. It's not an over the top festival, but there's lots of local people that you see at the gym and on the roads that do it, so that's nice to see. I hope to do it next year again, the only caveat being that I will be doing IMAZ which is 4 weeks after this race, so we will see.

  • Comments: Really had a great time at this race. I guess the only thing I would do differently, after I pondered it the last couple of days, is, doing those 2 sprints last month kinda derailed my momentum I had built up in my training. I was still getting faster coming into this race and enjoyed both races last month, but just never felt I "got my groove" completely back in my training, mentally and emotionally, and that had never happened to me before. Race day, I was completely bouncing off the walls and was ready to bite nails in half. Was very happy to FINALLY get to the sub-6 mark!!!(This is my 4th 1/2) Especially after Marquee in April! This was a PR by 10:28!!! And.....14:03 faster than last year!

  • Comments: Glad I signed up for this race last minute because I surely would have regretted missing it as it was my last opportunity to race for the year. It was awesome having it in my back yard but to be brutally honest, I'm not a fan of the course. I'm sure I was a bit spoiled by Steelhead's course but the bike here was just too many u-turns and I didn't care for the three loop course. The upside though was the multi loop course made it feel like there were 5000 people out there. Really looking forward to a big off season of training, taking everything I learned from my rookie year this year and going under 5hrs next year. There is a lot of low hanging fruit that I think can save me a good chunk of time out there.

  • Comments: This was the final race in the Redrock series, it was a great show, everything on time and good and fast athletes. This is a pentultament event for the area and athletes have more years of experience at this length or longer, so with just 1 year under my belt, I feel good about the results, very proud. I MISSED 7th place by 4 seconds, arrrggghh! I would have come in 2nd place in the 45 - 49 AG, but it seem like there was three racers ahead of me that will graduate next year too.

  • Comments: It was my first half ironman distance race. I loved it. Well put on, well done, the wetsuit strippers were awesome, the bike course had too many u turns, but hey...I need to get over it, and the run course was pretty nice.

  • Comments: I was super happy with the entire event. Expo was decent, crowd was big and volunteers were great. I went in with decent expectations and I blew them away. Not only did I do well, but I learned a lot about how I race. Left this day with a really great taste in my mouth...

  • Comments: Great Race! RedRock puts on such a fantastic event! The only thing holding me back from doing this race again is the time of year...it always seems to still be hot here in late October! At least the water was nice! Can't wait to start planning for my next HIM!

  • Comments: Tempe is a great town and venue is awesome. Soma was my first Redrock event and I am impressed. They ran it like clockwork. Really excellent all around experience, no drama (Mdot drama), very relaxed and low key. Highly recommend this race.

  • Comments: I felt like this was my best race. I really felt my decision making and my effort level was good. I couldn't imagine even saying I wanted to do an IM after Marquee, but now, I can imagine it. I know I'm still not ready for that kind of volume, but I made strides this summer. I felt diet and consistency have been my strong points, thus far, in my journey towards an IM. I really enjoy the 70.3 distance and really enjoy the camradery Wade and share racing with/against each other. Was very pleased with the job Red Rock and all the volunteers did with putting on a great event and am blessed and privelaged to race for FCA, and have such a supportive family!!!

  • Comments: 2011 is in the books. Looking back at the season on a whole, I would say it has been a tremendous success. Several great performances while constantly improving. This race was still a PR at the distance even with the horrific run. One thing I will not say is that I was capable of more. I don't believe in that. My time is what I was capable of....if I was capable of more or of going faster, I would have. When we say we are capable of more, we are saying things like, in this instance, season planning doesn't matter. Well it does. Every decision we make matters. Things didn't go as planned, but this is what I was capable of based on the whole of my training. So I will walk away from this and make adjustments based on what happened. My coach and I will come up with another plan for the next race and hopefully, next time, be able to execute it. The trip to Tempe was a great one. I had lunch on Saturday with Bryan Dunn and had a great time with him...thanks for lunch Bryan! I also met
