  • Comments: I love HFP and have been to a lot of their events over the past few years. I loved the group they had doing their timing last year. The results were instant and had many features. It looked like they had some bugs to work out on the timing at this event and with the new group. The volunteers appeared in short supply and as noted in my run comments they were sub standard on the run course (I will always appreciate volunteers it was just not the usual par). I will be racing another HFP event in 2 weeks. Hopefully will go a little better.

  • Comments: HFP normally does a stellar job but I was really disappointed at the finish line fare. HFP doesn't do anything really elaborate but they do always have PB&J, cookies, fruit, pretzels etc. as well as ice cold POP and bottled water and there was NO POP or BOTTLED WATER, which was all I really wanted when I finished, I was kind of disappointed...

  • Comments: water cups too small. Turns on the bike could have used a person with a flag to direct instead of having to watch for the arrows.

  • Comments: Being my first tri, I don't have too much to judge it by. The weather was great, the race was well organized and the volunteers were very helpful. I really enjoyed it and look forward to doing many more this summer. If I can handle the sprint swim without any panic issues (I'll try next week at Wendy's), I'll try to get an olympic in by end of year.

  • Comments: Great beginners/start of the season race, but poorly organized. Be aware of last minute course and transition layout changes when participating in HFP run races.

  • Comments: Nice route, relatively flat. I tried to give it my all on the swim, then give it my all on the bike, and I really felt good about those two segments. However, when I hit the run segment, I didn't have the energy to start running and needed to walk-run the first mile. The next race, I need to be more prepared for nutrition so that I stay in FRONT of my nutritional needs.

  • Comments: Not sure what to expect, but it was a great time for me. The race sold out and many waited until race morning for their packets which caused about a 20 minute delay in the start.

  • Comments: HFP has an amazing post-race food. Chow time! I remember not being very happy with my performance so I never wrote the race report. But for next year's sake, here are my times.

  • Comments: This was my first one and I will say that they could have had more water stations out considering the heat. It was about 90 to 92 degrees by the time we were finishing the race. As I understand they ran out of water on the course for the Olympic racers...that's terrible.

  • Comments: Great race. Very scenic in farmland Ohio. Aside from the tardy race start it was well run. It wouldn't have hurt to have had a sign at the only unmanned spot on the bike course where the road forked. There were arrows on the road but signs are better. It would have been better for the kids if the lake wasn't flooded, that put the beach underwater. They had fun anyway in the mud.

  • Comments: Was organized but race was delayed because of the people picking up packets before the race. There was still a long line when the race was supposed to start. Again no post race activities for HFP and no vendors.

  • Comments: It took a few hours to get in the right frame of mind to evaluate the race. This was only my second tri. My first one left me with a high, and I couldn't wait for the next one. After yesterday's race, though, I was feeling kind of low. I didn't want my family to ask how it was, because I didn't want to tell them, "not that good." After sleeping on it, though, I feel a lot better. This was only my second race, after all, and I am still learning. I am going to chalk this one up to a sophomore slump and come out swinging for revenge next time out. I still can't afford a new bike, so I will try to get faster on the one I have. Definitely a experience for learning and growing.

  • Comments: This race was iffy as we drove 1 1/2 hours to get to it. As we drove north on I-71 approaching Columbus, we saw nothing but black skies and lightening, eventually driving into a moderate thunder storm. As we arrived at the race, the rain all but stopped. I've been out of the TRI racing scene for a few years, but easily fit back into the tempo of the activities, which at its core, really didn't change. It's a bit more commercialized and expensive, but that just seems to be a natural progression of this sport. It was well organized, and fun. We didn't get a chance to stay for the POST race activities, if there were any. I had to get home to work 2nd shift, so we loaded up and headed south, making a quick stop at Wendy's and Taco Bell. My usual post race activity is to go home, order pizza and drink loads of Guinness, but work is short on bodies, and vacation time needs to be saved, so off to protect society I go.
