  • Comments: Ran race with 4 minute running to 1 min walk for first half. Then had to switch to 1:1 because knee was hurting and then 30 sec to 30 sec at the end.

  • Comments: Overall, I really enjoyed this race, and it was very gratifying to achieve a lifetime goal. It was low-key but nicely organized at the same time. We had a good time at Kiawah, as well, and we'll likely come back for a family vacation.

  • Comments: I had a lot of fun. If you are from SC, you should do this race. There was a huge group from the Upstate racing and I heard my name called out and cheered along many friends throughout the day. It is flat as a pancake. It smells good. The resort is beautiful with Spanish moss-laden willows and palm trees. I can honestly say I never had so much fun doing a run-only race. It was awesome.

  • Comments: The race is small and I normally don't like the two loops but the event was orgranized well. Course was flat and well marked with plenty of aid stations and the post race drinks and food were as good as I've ever seen

  • Comments: Great race. I think it would have been easier to stay on the island, but it worked out great with my folks because we had a good visit with them. All of the events were exactly as advertised and on time. Top notch event.

  • Comments: This race was great. I give it only a 4 rating due to the post race food being pretty crappy - cold pasta salad, cold hummus, good brownies and soup and beer, though. No cookies, or really many options. The green initiatives were a good thought. THe race was very well organized, no glitches whatsoever. Tons of water stops with fruit, water and gatorade well separated at the stops, too. I was thinking that the 2 loop course would be really dull the second time around, but I actually liked it, because I knew where I was the whole tuime and knew what was coming up next. It was perfectly flat, too, the one "hill" was about 30 yards long, and might have climbed 20 feet. The weather cooperated, with nice temos in the mid 40s at the start to mid 50s by the end, sun, little wind, and not much humidity. I would highly recommend this race as a nice destination marathon. The island and resort are great - expensive and not terribly kid-friendly, but a very nice relaxing time. The

  • Comments: I like this race quite a lot. It is small enough to feel 'local' but big enough to have sufficient facilities and volunteers to meet everyone's needs. I'll probably do it again.

  • Comments: Average race and course at best, with poorly organized start. Somewhat boring scenery given the fact that we were running on an island. However, the volunteers and few spectactors that were there were great!!!! It was a flat track, and given cool weather this would make a good BQ/PR race for someone looking to run fast.

  • Comments: Nice flat, fast course, two loops makes it dull, very little spectator support, but all this allows you to focus on the run. Plenty of friendly volunteers at the aid stations, course is well marked and marshalled. Post-race food and activities sucked, expected more.

  • Comments: I liked this race - the double-loop wasn't really a big deal. It was nice recognizing landmarks on the second time around. Although the course was not closed to traffic or bikes, I didn't see any problems with that. In fact, it was nice because my husband was able to bring me a shirt when I needed it! :)
