Subject: RE: Summer Bike-To-Work Challenge III've only done 2 rides toward my 40 ride goal and did a few in April. Just had a bad week last week. Next week I want to try for 3 times (the most I'll probably ever be able to do in one week because of two after-work commitments ). I have noticed that commuting has made a HUGE difference in my fitness.
As to the bike question, I'm riding a hybrid I picked up for pretty cheap at a used bike show. I ride it with sneakers and my laptop in a backpack. I might upgrade commuter bikes next year, but for now I'm loving that I can ride a gravel bike path along a stream for a portion of my trip. And I like the more upright position during the rush hour ride home. And it's a triple while my road bike is a compact double. I do 23-24 miles roundtrip.
Anyhow, here's a little chart anyone can put on their logs to keep track of your rides. Just add in your goal and adjust the position of the end strike code accordingly.
