pedal advice

My only advice would be that as soon as you get the new pair, make sure you do the "tip-Over" right off the bat to at least get it out of the way and appease the bike gods.....and by tip-over I mean that moment where you're slowing down and don't quite clip out quick enough and go over like a tree....usually in front of either a really hot person of the opposite sex, a group of people or an intersection of cars.....I think it's standard that you have to at least do one with a new pair of pedals. I, on the other hand, am the exception to the rule and do it at least once a ride....sigh.

I use Look pedals. They have a large platform so it's easy in and out. I like 'em anyhow.

Nice to know about the LOOK pedals, I will soon be in the market for a new pair of clipless also. My shimanos have been great -- but everything wears out.

Look pedals are the only ones I've ever used.

Sorry, wish I could help, but I am still using my 1998 105's and I love them. I just took them apart and rebuilt them for next year. It is not that difficult a job as there are only about four or five parts in all in each pedal.

i also use the look pedal...i have nothing to compair them to because they are the only clipless i have ever owned but i have no complaints

I am using the Speed Play X-3's and love them.  I got a bad first pair, but Speed Play made them good and they are great.

And be sure to also bung up your elbow so it's nice and obvious so you can take "crap" from your roadie buddies about what part of the bike should be kept upright ;-) ! When I first got my bike (~ a year ago), I had never used clipless pedals before. The bike shop manager recommended Looks. We got the bike home, my husband loosened them so that they "just held" and followed my happy, unbalanced butt around the block holding on to the back of the bike (like I had just gotten my training wheels off) to help me adjust to getting into and out of them without too much hip damage. His effort was so appreciated, although I will say all of the kids on the block thought I was just learning to ride :-) LOL! I just posted in the "bikes" thread about pedals...thinking of trying something other than Looks.
