Best time for Sales on Wetsuits

I am in the same situation, as doing two Sprints in the next 5 weeks, both w/o a wetsuit as not required/recommended. Though I have thoughts of buying one for next season and was curious not only when is the best time to buy (fall/winter???) but where (ebay or direct online???).

Of course deals will be had at the end of the year/beginning of the year on models they need to get out of the door for the newer models. If you dont mind buying online you should sign-up for email alerts from the larger Tri Sports websites. I just rec. a email two days ago from all3sports.com about a 20% sale on 2009 wetsuits (sale lasted 48hrs). I think the wetsuit rental guys also have sales as well. Good Luck!

October-November, although the sales may be the best just remember that sizes are limited, for sure try some on and get an idea of sizing and brand,that way you can safely scan online sales and inventories.

Xterra often puts their suits up for sale 50% off in the fall to make room for the upcoming year model. Start looking at the end of summer/early fall time frame.

Our local masters swim team often gets a special deal from Xterra about this time and we don't pay any shipping. Try to hook up with a local master swimmer and check into it if you can.

FWIW - I've had 2 Xterra Vortex suits, both sleeveless, and had very good luck with them. Comfortable and durable.

Currently the Vortex 3 John is listed on xterrawetsuits.com at $300. I'd expect you can get one online in the fall for $150 or less.

I bought my Zoot Zenith wetsuit on-line in early December for over 50% off the original price.

Just wait an hour or two and Xterra wetsuits will be on sale again. In fact if you called them, they'd probably honor their "sale" prices. Other than that, I have found that around January is when everything in the tri world is 50% off. Everyone is clearing out last year's inventory to make room for the new and improved stuff.

Actually, through July 31st...the Vortex 3 suits (full & sleeveless) are 50% off.  The full is $199, and the sleeveless is $149. 

Just buy the Xterra at $150 longjohn or $199 full now. It's a great suit, and is not in any way an inferior suit. You can win races outright with this thing if you have a great swim. The return policy is awesome, and the company has a great reputation. I'm not one to shill for products, but this $150 was amongst the best $150 I've spent on anything in triathlon.
