Subject: Any Olympic races Nov/Dec/Jan? LA area
The only tris I can find is the LA Triathlon on October 4th, and I'm pretty sure that isn't enough time for me to train for (doing my first tri/sprint august 16th).

I see a Turkey Tri in november but that seems to be a mini olympic distance. (1/2 mi swim, 14 mi bike, 4.5 mi run)

Anything going on November, December, January? I used the Races part of this website and can't find anything, or I'm doing the search wrong. =/

Don't think it's an Olympic?  And I wouldn't advise that race for a newbie anyway (just from what I've heard)

Oops.  You're right, it is a sprint.  I've done it.  The swim and run are fine, but the bike does claim victims.  I suppose that's why they station an ambulance at the bottom of the hill.

Turkey Tri at Thanksgiving is pretty much the end of the tri season in the LA area...picks up again in early February (Redlands Tri, a reverse sprint, is then).

Dang, not much pickens.  I never really think of "off-seasons" when it comes to sunny california weather year round basically.

Oh well, lots of time to train til Feb/March!
