But logged on doesn't mean I'm actually paying attention, as this is my home page both at work and at home. Essentially means that's how long my computer has been on over the last eighteen months.

Not exactly.  That's closer to an accurate measure of your time on BT than you think.

After 1/2 hour of inactivity your session is considered inactive and your stats stop accruing time even if the page is still up in your browser.

Of course if you keep the window up all day and only look at it and do something every 31 minutes, it's not very accurate.

Well, I do do that at work, I have the window minimized and look at it during breaks or post something, walk away, pretend to work for about 20 minutes then come back.

I have wasted too much time here though during the day.
