Well, we are to the end of the month and to Friday again.  Okay, peeps, what good stuff is going on with you? Any good news come your way?  Are you particularly grateful for anything this week?

I love reading this stuff so please share ...

Nothing too major this week -

- my mom who i've mentioned several times is sounding more and more like her old, enthusiastic self in her recovery from her surgeries and chemo.  She told me her eyelashes and eyebrows are growing back in!

- I had a very positive experience at work supporting one of the phases of implementation of the project i've been working on since last April.  It was great to see things in action and be able to see our end-users interacting with all that we had done

- running my first trail race tomorrow - should be a fun, no-pressure event!

My daughter is coming this weekend for a whiskey tasting at a Celtic festival nearby, and a 5k. We have been running "together" by posting our paces each day to one another to stay motivated at a distance to keep up the running.

And I found out when Van Winkle is releasing their next batch of 20 year bourbon - so that is what is making me happy this week. And I'll be even happier at the end of October, when I can purchase a few bottles.

It is nice to be at a job that I enjoy.

Two wins... having a job, and enjoying it.

I may also re-launch my school psychology blog.

the good news is that there are nice muscle relaxant pills that deal with muscle spasms.  And I took today off. God bless vacation days.

My son brought home a backpack full of 100% papers and a note from the teacher praising his hard work. He is in first grade.

My daughter FINALLY stayed dry all day with no potty accidents. She is 4 so this has been long time coming!

I got a new Jolly Phonics book in the mail and I can't wait to get started with my kids!

I made it through the day (hopefully--now safely on couch with cat) without further self-destruction! No lingering effects from yesterday's 24-hour stomach flu and forced absence from Advil for badly sprained elbow.  Actually managed to run an hour on the treadmill and swim 1000m (still can't pull thru normal stroke, so mostly one-armed butterfly and flappy freestyle with fins, but whatever) without pain. Apparently this DIY hydrotherapy was beneficial, and now I can reach my shoulder with my left hand for the first time in....is it 11 days now?

Progress...yesterday all I could have come up with was..."I do not, to my knowledge, have terminal cancer, nor does anyone in my immediate family." and "I am not living in a refugee camp."

This weeks good news is brought to you by the misfortunes of last week.  While using the table saw, I sliced off the top of my finger (NOT THE TIP) from the nail to about 1/2 way between the first 2 knuckles. Not enough skin to stitch it back together.

I didn't cut my finger off with the table saw!

It is healing, SLOWLY!

I made it through 2 nights in a row without painkillers for said finger injury

Well, I'm thrilled to be walking around sans boot. Foot is doing much better, ug, unfortunately I now have full on PF from said boot but hoping it will go away just walking around in a normal shoe.

I'm stoked the smoke is going away and the weather is beautiful!
