Anyone know if its safe? I am suppose to have major surgery on Thursday and my company wants me to fly out tomorrow morning and fly back wednesday afternoon. Is this a bad idea?

When is your pre-op appt? Have you had it yet? Usually it's a day or 2 before.

What is your definition of "major"?

I'd also go with "no" like the others said. You're already at a high risk of getting sick while traveling, and then adding surgical recovery after that...not the smartest thing to do.

I don't even like to fly/travel the month leading up to an IM, much less surgery...

In addition to what was said above, what if your flight home gets cancelled? You could miss your surgery.

yeah told my boss my Doctor does not want me to go because of the surgery. Really does not seem like a good idea. Plus they would not tell me why I would be making the trip. I think it was to try to make the client feel good. I really do not know.

Odd. Maybe they're trying to tell you something.

What we see is that people want to look good – in a bad way. Our society paints a picture of beauty. But nobody wants to really go back to basics of diet and exercise as the fountain of youth.
