Have fun today. I'm busy mixing this. And what a tremendous pile of cack it is. Apart from the hot chicks in leather. They're okay.

I'll leave you a gift:

The Versus online coverage starts earlier than the TV coverage.  Different announcers until TV coverage.

Starting early today I see.  I watched yesterday's stage in Fast Forward.  I didn't get to see the snail or the fat man that my parents and my wife were absolutely fascinated by (apparently he was on the TV for about 10 seconds but it was fascinating).

I did see that Versus re-broadcast Stage 9 of the TDF where Lance went off-roading and Vino took-off and won.  I wonder was it really that amazing that he rode through a field?

Mine is showing 8:30est.  That is our typical TV coverage time out here.  Do you have another link instead of versus.com?

Thanks

I guess.  I was watching on a different link a few days ago.  I got it from Chris, but I don't remember now.

I love the history lesson that you get by watching the tour on TV.  I wonder if these commentators know all this or are just fed it by their helpers?

Amazing stuff to be learned for sure!

Agreed. That's one of the things I like the best.  They've done it so many years that it wouldn't surprise me if they actually know all this.

Well, Phil Ligget has reported on 30 years of TDF I think.  I think he actually raced the original TDF.  He just gets lost trying to figure-out who's who on the television because he calls it a picture-radio and he's not so much watching as he's listening for their breathing patterns.
Phil- "I believe that's Lance Armstrong there--"
Paul- "Actually Phil that's Tom Boonen..."
Phil- "Oh of course, that's the black and red and white yellow jersey and the slower breathing pattern of the Belgian national champion..."

They keep talking about Cav not being suited for the finish today.

Thor or Oscar are getting all the VS run.

Too bad they just can't fast forward like someone mentioned yesterday!

Even Armstrong said yesterday before the race "Why don't we just line-up for the sprint, give it to Cav and go take another rest day?"  After which he had to pee in 7 bottles over the course of the next hour...

Tweet from Lance this morning: Driving 2 start. Looking 4 a grp sprint today. Slight ramp @ the finish tho. Husholvd and Freire? I'd still have to go w/ Cav."

Not much. Vandevelde crashed this morning, officials held the race because it sounds like a fan caused it. Lance had mechanical problems, he caught up.  Other than that, not much.

How'd the fan cause it?

What stage was that back in 99 when some jerk jumped out in-front of the leader to snap a picture?  I was watching that from a hotel room near Salzburg a few hours before my sisters wedding and remember thinking "I'd get-up and start stomping that fool with my cleats!"

Uh oh, Lance had mechanical problems...Actually, he just had to take another urine sample...

You are not going to get her caught up on the history lesson

Cat - you don't wake up for the flat stages huh?  Time to bring the Alps into play.  These flat stages are 2 minutes of excitement for 4-5 hours of coverage!

haha I watch EVERY stage if I can... but I was out tonight anda little late getting home!
