For real? I don't mean to be a hater but can you really shatter the WR while slowing down and celebrating without something fishy going on?

Just seems weird to me that he's SO much faster than everyone else and he came out of nowhere.  Can't wait to see what he does in the 200 meters.

He was very relaxed and seemed only concerned about Powell in this race.  Once he knew he had him beat he let up!  It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.  I am anxious to see him in the 200m, it's his main race.  With his height, his starts are generally not as quick as some of the shorter racers and it takes him several meters to get fully charged up, so that's why the 100m is not really a great race for him.  But he certainly made it his own yesterday!!

Coming out of the blocks,  it looked like he drug the top of his toes across the track.   Takes some effort to uncoil his long legs.

Amazing to see him get up to speed and the amount of track he eats up with his long legs.

Think we might be saying bye bye to Michael Johnson 200m record.

I was thinking the exact same thing.  Have just been too lazy to post until now.  I did not like that he was celebrating before he crossed the line...that's just poor form if you ask me.

I was thinking the same thing. It appeared as though he stumbled off the blocks too.

If it was run cleanly, though...WOW!

That was ridiculous.  How can you slow down and celebrate for oh, 15m? at least before finishing and still break a WR???  He's ridiculously fast.

Just to put it into perspective. 100m in 9.69 seconds. That is 10.32 meters per second.... or 23.09 mph!

Holy Crap!

The way he just ran that quaterfinal 200m.. I think he could go take 2 seconds off the 400m WR right now. His stride looked more like a 800 stride than a 200m.

And since that's an average speed, presumably his top speed was even higher, given that had to accelerate from zero--and, apparently, was slowing down at the end.
