Hey All... I was out there and did the sprint and just checking on my times...they seem a bit off for everything. Was the run course a little short? Was the T1 included in the swim or bike? T2 i assume was in bike. Glad we did it Sunday and not today!

Not too sure about the distances but T1 is included in the swim time and the bike swallows the T2. And I totaly agree, a race today or yesterday afternoon would have sucked...a lot!

I thought my 24:01 5k run was a little out of my wheelhouse. I wonder how short the 5km was.

T1 is split between swim & bike and T2 is included in the bike.  The timing mats are in transition, so any time you spend outside transition after you hop out of the pool is part of the swim (changing, running from pool to T), and any time spent finding your bike and then getting shoes/helmet on etc is part of the bike.  The next timing mat is when you leave T2 to go out on the run.

What about falling off your bike? Where is that time included? Also why couldn't they have shortened the 10K run? 3 would have been way better!

So I used runningmap.com to map out the run course and it seems as though it was around 400m short.  So depending on how fast your pace was, add 1:20-2:00 to your time!  I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news

GREAT JOB EVERYONE WHO DID IT THOUGH!

I didnt have the cahonies to brave the cold this year!

If they used the same course as last year (I assume they did), then my Garmin GPS had it mapped at 4.93km

Well I'd definitely prefer 70m short over 400m short.

I didnt mean to be a Derek-Downer! Forgive me!!!

Hope everyone is recovering well from the race!

I think you guys are right on this one, I was really happy with my time, but it felt about 1min too fast for me.  Kind of disappointing to think the run course wasn't actually 5km.

T1's time might be included in the swim or bike depending on if you stopped at the tent at the pool or at the bike.
