Do you do any sort of warm up before you start, or do you just go for it? I'll often do some sort warm-up prior to my main set of whatever exercise I am doing, jog a little before running, do some swim warm/up before the main set, ride a couple of slack miles before cranking it out on the bike. The way I look at it, stretching is a quality workout, like speed-work or strength training. I do it in small doses, carefully applied. Warm muscles are more readily worked. I wouldn't go to the track and start doing 400 repeats without warming up a bit first, the same with stretching. So far it seems to have worked. |
