In the Tour they usually put a barrier or a guy waving a flag in front of those middle of the road signs.

Guess P-R has a lower budget

Is the language Dutch? Or something Scandanavian? I think I learned my first word: "Patz!"

I've watched that several times today too.  I don't think "funny" is the right word, but it is the only one I can come up with.

On a similar note - I watched an Army ROTC officer run into a street sign while calling cadence for his unit during a 10K one time.  He was running down the sidewalk looking right.  He should have been looking forward because he centered the pole and rattled the sign.  To their credit, the unit never broke stride.  They laughed, but stayed in step.

I don't normally laugh at people having accidents. But for some reason this video just made me laugh. I feel sorry for the guy, but I found it rather funny.

Had a friend experience much the same except with a concrete planter on a bike/walking trail. What he said was that his vision was shielded by riders in front and their quick evasive maneuvers left him zero response time. In the end, a lot of bruises and soreness and a cracked carbon frame but thankfully no cracked bones!

This poor individual, however, seemed to 'take it on the chin'.
