Subject: Garmin Communicator Plug In

I recently have had problems uploading my Garmin workouts.  When I try to I see that BT wants the Communicator Plug In software installed.  I have done this over and over and it doesn't seem to install.  After the installation process, it goes back to a Garmin webpage and states that the Plug In is not installed.

I haven't had any problems with this until a few days ago.  I also noticed that my computer automatically installed IE 11 recently and am guessing this is the issue.  Anyone having this problem as well?

This may be Garmin Communicator as there have been numerous reports of it not working with IE11, we will check this out in more detail tonight on an IE11 machine.

For a few weeks now, every time I upload a workout I'm asked by the Garmin Communicator Plugin to allow www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/training/ access to my Garmin device. Is this a related problem? I'm on a Mac, OS 10.9, with Firefox 25.0.1

From digging around so far, this seems to be coming from communicator.  Does anybody else get this popup?  We can see if there is a way to suppress it.

I just switched from an older Garmin Forerunner to the 310XT and now my workouts will not upload to BT either. (( I loved being able to upload them
directly. Not sure why...any insight??

Thanks.

You may have Garmin Express installed which will not allow Communicator to work.  You will have to uninstall Garmin Express.

*We are currently testing integration of Garmin Express as that will soon be the method we use.

So, does that mean that you can only use one or the other- download to Garmin Connect OR BT? Hmmmm, now that wouldn't be great. What would you suggest or what do most people do? Do they just have a link from BT going to their Connect site?

Correct, one or the other.  I agree, it's not ideal.  Back when Garmin rolled this out all of the sudden, it quickly became apparent that they are mutually exclusive and that is when we enrolled in Garmin's Developer program.  Until we can go live with Express - which will be Garmin's new way of file transfer, this is the workaround.  Note, we have been developing this for a few months.  We are to the point of testing it now as we just got the last few bugs worked out.  Though I apologize it's taken a little longer than anticipated as we have to work with another company = lot's of back and forth.

Thanks! For now I will continue to use this as my main focus and just upload to the Garmin Connect to have it saved for future purposes. I love having the running tallies on here and being able to see where others are, too. Good for piece of mind.

Came here to ask the same basic thing about Garmin Express - glad to hear you guys are working on it. Upgraded to a 310 recently and using the ANT+ stick to upload data has been nothing but trouble for me. I'll be very glad to have an automated way to upload files, and if you're looking for beta testers, I'd be happy to be a guinea pig!
