How technical is the mountain bike portion of these races?  Are most people who do these races Downhill MTB racers, or just ordinary triathletes?  Or I guess I could just take the mountain bike out to Buntzen one weekend and follow the instructions on the site:

Leah and Dan did this race last year. Leah is pretty hardcore but Dan bought just bought a mountain bike. Okay Dan is pretty hardcorde as well, but I think he was realatively new to mountain biking.

What was the turn out for tis race last year? It will be my first "open water" swim and I would hate to be run over in the first wave of the swim. It sounds like a killer event, I love trail running and MTN biking.

Just name the time, I will be there, weekends work the best right now. Saturdays are BIKE DAY. I am male, but after my first TRI comp. I may switch to the girl side. I'm sure the age bracket won't be a problem either!

I thought about doing it last year but wouldn't have been able to handle the swim and I was going to be a late registrant and then it rained...so I didn't bother, hah.

I'll be likely to do it this year, though.
