Can anyone recommend a Wetsuit Brand for a first time Tri-er? Water is 67 degrees. Ocean swim.

As mentioned, Xterra has some good sales going on. And NeoSport is very good for the price as well. But it'll come down to one thing -- how the suit fits you.

Wetsuits are designed for specific body types and/or to correct specific problems with your swim technique.  It is a good idea to go to a triathlon store and try several on to determine which size and manufacture fits you best.  If it is a good store they will ssteer you  to what is best for you.  I bought a Quintana Roo becuase I have broad sholders and I wanted a full suite.  The reaosn I bought the suit is because seveal stores recomended that manufacture.

you might consider renting for your first time. there are different places online that will mail you a suit before your race and then you mail it back after for $40-$50. I did this with xterra suits and it worked out. it arrived early enough i could get a few trial swims in before the race.

as for buying one, also check out the de soto 2 piece suits.

Agree.

The first brand you should consider is "RENTAL", after using this brand for a couple of swims, you should consider this brand: "USED"

This piece of equipment is probably the least used piece of of equipmant most triathletes own and can be had in next to new condition for half off retail easily. I got my BlueSeventy Helix John for $90, it was used three times before I got it off the classifieds on Slowtwitch.

The key as everybody mentioned is getting the right size, which you never really know until you have swam in the suit, hence the first brand to consider, rental.
