I thought these were funny.  Link  A concept at this point.  Music player that is powered by your movements.

Actually, it looks quite fun. Except I'm one of those snotty purists who don't run with music and don't think anyone else should, either. Wow. I think that is the meanest thing I have ever said on BT

I'm dying to put together one of those exercise bikes that would power, say, a DVD player. Because the unannounced rolling blackouts here in Indonesia are driving me nutz!

Yay for melon presses.  Maybe we need a music player powered by melon presses.

My fiance really wants to make a generator to hook up to our bike trainers to power the tv. I think if he wants to tinker and make one that's fine but i work out enough that i should just be able to put on the tv.

He also thinks this would be good for kids ... hook it up to the tv with the gaming console. You have to bike if you want to play ... kind of funny to think about being those parents ... hahahahaha!

Bike powered generator.  It's a trainer with a generator already attached.  Link

Not a bad deal at $400! Lifetime warranty!

If I had a spare $400 I would actually buy it. Oh, and can they maybe throw an extra KenDonut into the package or something?

We have something like this for our child.  It's a stationary bike that hooks up to the tv and as she cycles it looks as though she's riding down a trail - she has to spell things and aims the bike towards the proper letters etc.  !!  I just realized how crazy it must sound for us to have this but she loves it!
