Subject: RE: Kong IS King!Just got back from seeing this epic... and epic is not used loosely. Jackson did a great job in this retell of the film noir classic. The action was intense and often after the intitial base of the story is laid out. Like bear said, the setup does add to the character and story development. Yes, we all know the story but the retelling cannot assume you're already seen the original. It has to be a complete movie unto itself. Thus, the setup is necessary. I might be a bit of a perfectionist but there were a few lackluster periods in the special effects department where the digitized images were glaringly fake. These flaws are fleeting and probably not even noticeable to most casual viewers. But I'm a casual viewer and I caught them. Definitely see this film in a big screen theater if possible. You will not be disappointed. |
