Pro 4343 Olney, MD | Subject: RE: Peep Jousters: The Original Peep Warriors Hi to all the Peep Jousters! I've been on challenge seems with most of you and I look forward to getting to know the rest. My biking will be a combination of rollers, commuting (weather permitting), and longer weekend rides. I expect to kick off the month this weekend with a 30 mile ride. I'm looking forward to a great month of riding. Peep, peep! Nicole |

Master 2235 Pacific Northwest | Subject: RE: Peep Jousters: The Original Peep Warriors Hey Peep Jousters! I know some of you pretty well....others, well, not so well yet! This will be fun..... I'm here in the suburbs of Seattle, on the Sammamish plateau (read: hell of a ride to get back home). I put 100 miles, as I am doing the Oly plan and am in week 4 right now. I may adjust it higher if I actually seem to be doing more. I will be out of town for one of the scheduled long days so that will make it challenging! My bike's in the shop but ready to be picked up today, yay!! This is my second tri season, last year I did four sprints, and this year I am doing multiple races including at least one Olympic (June 7). I am considering doing the Seattle-to-Portland ride, although have a long way to go on the bike before I am ready for that. I haven't done any rides longer than about 30 miles in many years....but am hoping to soon be able to ride all the way around Lake Washington without bonking. I did the south end last weekend on my mountain bike and did fine. I whine a lot about not getting to train when I want due to being a stay-at-home mom with two kids. Just nod and smile. They are great. So are you all, let's ride! |

Veteran 290 Texas | Subject: RE: Peep Jousters: The Original Peep Warriors Hi Jousters! Let's WIN WIN WIN! Im Karen - live south of Seattle - single mom - 2 kids - 15yo boy, 5 yo girl - competitive swimmer for 15 years (tennis too for about 10 yrs) then ALOT of years in and out of various athletic endeavors - kind of couch potato since early 2004 to now except when i ruptured the achilles doing weekend warrior tennis in 2005 - Doc said i shouldn't play anymore, but... I stretch ALOT now!!!! I'm super excited about doing my first tri's this year started playing tennis again this summer, then working out more to feel better in December and ended up signing up for a tri in one of those moments of insanity (only sprints tho) - i'm pretty competitive but totally out of shape - super slow at "running" right now - ouch! originally i signed up just to finish, but now i want to try to push with some first timer respectable times (not even sure what those would be at this point) looking forward to meeting you here and hopefully to train/race... um - don't have a bike yet, buying one next week, but will hit the spin bikes at the gym Karen |

Master 2339 somewhere over the rainbow | Subject: RE: Peep Jousters: The Original Peep Warriors hey peeps!! hooray for a new challenge! hooray for getting my butt on my bike! anyone doesn't know me, my strength is running, i can swim a little bit, but not so much, and i'm rotten on my bike. i did one sprint last year, and am signed up for a few more this year. i live north of olympia washington, and i'm a SAHM with three kids (homeschooled) ok, now that THAT's out of the way, i'm loud, i'm a little nuts, and i ALWAYS win, so there SINCE it's the weirdest day of feb, i've planned on doing a little brick, a little bike/run brick to celebrate the last day of the running challenge (go scissors!!) and the (almsot) beginning of the bike challenge. that and i just just dang need to brick way more often. looking forward to getting to know all the new peeps, and SO excited about being on the same team as some of my old peeps |

Champion 7546 Santa Cruz, California | Subject: RE: Peep Jousters: The Original Peep Warriors Hey there peeps....
I am very excited about this challenge. I am a newbie to the site (joined in December)...came to this site after a really terrible family tragedy in an ironman competition last November...and I am now training in her honor. I used to be a mountain bike racer for over 5 years and I raced almost every weekend during that time. I am an honorary member to a bike club that I used to be the president of....and will be racing in a few weeks at their race a few hours north and east of Los Angeles. I just bought my first road bike a few months ago and am loving riding it! Much easier then riding your mtn bike on the roads! I am willing to be captain if you would like...I try to inspire as much as possible and hope you will do the same for me...as I sometimes need that added kick to get out the door! I am signed up to ride 300 miles which I know I can do...and hope to do most of it outside! weather permitting!!??! I am not a huge It looks as though we have a great team...I look forward to getting to know all of you. I hope you will let me know if there is something in particular that fires you up...and I will try to inspire accordingly...I know lyssa-gator (Allyssa) likes to get pictures of really big woman...and intend to send her lots of these! luck you Allyssa! hope everyones has dusted the cobwebs off their bikes and have them tuned and ready to roll! Have a great day all! time to go kick some other peeps butts!..... and we are not talking JOUSTER PEEPS!!! |

How old are your kids and how do you manage to work out?? Mine are 2 and 5, both boys. I usually run in the early mornings, hit the gym to swim while the oldest is at school, and bike in fits and spurts when I can find sitters, but usually on the weekend when hubby is here. |
