Subject: RE: Chrissie Wellington rulesI met Chrissie at Timberman too and she truely is one very nice and down to earth person. During the race I recognized who she was as she was, cruising towards the 12 mile mark and start cheering her on like mad (and I even got a smile out of her ). About 2 hours after the race I wander over to the board where they have the results posted and there she is, away from all the other pros hanging out with age groupers talking to everyone, signing stuff, taking pictures. I got her to autograoh my number (too bad I didn't have a camera ).
Also in a fairly major race she finished 6th overall and would have qualified for the IM 70.3 World Championship as a Male Pro. She ran the 5th fastest half marathon split overall and when I saw her she made it look easy. She is incredible.
This sport is really fortunate to have people like Chrissie and Natasha Badman to promote it. Both are amazing atheletes, both are World Champions, and both go out of their way to encouage and mingle with the regulars AGers and are infectiously positive.
