I completed the Tri2Remember Triathlon this weekend for my first tri experience.  I left lots of room for improvementEmbarassed but I had a blast!  I can hardly wait for next season.  I did post my race report.

Congrats!!! It was my first also and the first thing I said to my friend when we finished was "Which one do you want to do next?" I'm hooked. The atmosphere before wasn't like anything I have seen at any running race before. Lots of intesity.

finished it around 1:30 so I was happy with that for being my first. My swim was by far the weakest leg ,but I can work on that over the off season. I am thinking about joining getfit atlanta or some other training program to get me motivated.

Any ideas for a another sprint this year (that isnt filled up)?

I looked at your results. You did really well! A couple of questions. 1.)How did you get your overall results? I just saw my age group results at the event-tech.com website. 2.) What kind of penalty do you get for not wearing your race belt? In my excitement at T2 I forgot to put mine on.

Jim...Being the geek I am, I saved the age group results to a text file, opened in excel and sorted by event.  Yours:  Swim 357/490  Bike 261/490 Run 241/490 Overall 265/490.  I do not know the penalty for not having your race number on...I would guess a 2 minute penalty but you were not docked.  Congrats on your first race!  I agree with the great atmosphere.  The only running race I have done in which I had as much fun was Bay to Breakers 2007 in San Francisco which is basically a huge block party.  My husband is doing his first at Emerald Point and it will be hard to be on the sideline

Haha! Why didn't I think of that? Thanks for getting my overall. I guess I didnt get penalized for not having my race belt on. After doing that I don't think I could be a spectator at EP. It would be too hard to be there and not participating!

I am still on a high from saturday! Great people, great atmosphere and a great race. I will definetly make the Tri2 Remember an annual event.

Jim,
A sure-fire way to NEVER forget your race # belt is to clip it on your hat or visor. Then in T2 you only have to grab your hat on the fly and put the belt on while you're running. Worth a try.
(I guess this is only sure-fire if you always wear a hat. But you get my point.)

Yep, I don't even think it was out in plain sight for me to see it. These are the things you learn I guess. Nice quote by the way!

Conrgats all on completing your first tri's this weekend.  I was there as a volunteer, and it's nice to hear that you had a positive experience and the race had a good atmosphere.

Yea - that was my first tri as well.  Awesome to see so many people that early in the morning ready to compete and cheer.  It was well stocked with volunteers and was a really good event to come to for a first competition.  I'm not too ashamed of my time there either. Surprised
