bicycle power washing machine

Sorry if its repost.

I know the idea is kind of crazy.  Indeed I never been on a trainer.   I was dared by my coworker that I can't build a better bicycle trainer than whatever available on the market, so I was googling for idea.  How good/stupid is this idea to build something like this in the basement?

Clean clothes and a great workout both at the same time? Sounds like a great idea to me!

Thank God for the labels on the picture. I was so confused at what the 'thing' was on the right until I read the caption 'bicycle.'

How do you fill with water, Drain, refill for rinse, and drain again. Seems like lots of stopping and starting.

I've seen a similar setup--only the bike was hooked up to a blender.  Margaritas anyone?

I like the idea, but the bike they used has really crappy components and not a speck of carbon anywhere.  Maybe a roadie would use this contraption, but there isnt a self-respecting triathlete who would allow his tush to touch the seat of such an archaic bike.

I'm thinking that I'll put my wife's Felt in one room, and run the belts into another room, so she won't even know what is happening.

Shouldn't everything be made of bamboo? And where is Gilligan?

I had planned to do something like this for a mechanical generator that would attach to my radio (with ipod attachment) and a small fan.  No hammering = no music and no breeze.

I like the multitasking idea better though.

That's the latest thing that every serious triathlete just must have! Watts are so 2007, you now measure loads of dirty underwear and sour towels to gauge your true fitness. In the picture, the barrel is CF all the metal is titanium but you have use a 1987 Centurion Ironman and a rusty Avenir windtrainer.

Seriously, not a bad idea really but I like the other idea about powering a blender seems like you would have to really spin to get a good puree going though. Honey, I'll be out in the garage making dinner!
