I have a sprint (880yd, 16 mile, 3 mile) traithlon this coming Saturday and want to do well.

Historically, getting my bike jersey on after the swim has been slow, frustrating and the shirt is never on my body straight.   This very close fitting jersey (the one that I am going the wear) stays on during my run after the bike, as it is cool and comfortable.  I do not like those tri-top shirts, so that option is out for me.

Anyway, should I just put the jersey on under my wet suit?

Thanks

Why don't you like tri tops?

Yeah, why are you wearing a bike jersey? Either a tri top or a compression shirt makes a lot more sense and you wear it the whole race.

should not make a difference, i have worn bike jerseys under a wettie, probably alot easier though if it is a sleeveless wetsuit. My first race i tried to put a bike jersey on while being wet.....ummmm bad idea...takes forever....while a Tri top will be more comfy, i see no reason to not wear a bike jersey if that is what you are comfy in, IMHO.

BTW cool jersey, i have the Oktoberfest version, i have an affinity to black clothes, but that green is sharp!!!

I don't really get the conservative thing. You're wearing Spandex shorts. What's wrong with a close fitting top?You can wear your bike jersey under your wetsuit, but don't expect it to dry well.

A wet jersey screams chafing to me.  Ouch!  I'm not pretty in a tri suit but I'm comfortable and really not thinking about what I look like during a race anyhow.

Well, if I could find a long enough tri top that did not hike up above my belly button during the bike and run it would be OK.

That's why I chose a one piece tri suit.  No moving anywhere.

I have an Avero tri top that I have done several Tri's in, believe me I don't want my belly showing and it doesn't

Tri top or jersey, I doubt it matters.  They are both made out of similar fibers and should be OK wet w.r.t. chafing.  I can't see why wearing one under a wetsuit would make any difference but I would try it out first to make certain that there aren't any issues with seams in the wrong place and rubbing.  I certainly would not want to waste a bunch of time putting on a shirt over a wet body at T1.  As for cycling jerseys' I have started wearing them in marathons, I love the convenient pockets for carrying the gels etc.

Oh come up showing a little skin is part of the fun!!  Though the one piece does solve that problem.

I would do as the other say and try it out. Put that jersey on, then the wetsuit. I could see where getting a tight wetsuit off over a somewhat loose jersey might be tough, but give it a try. Also, are you going to run with this jersey? Try that too just to make your are comfortable with everything your getting into.
