Total Time = 1h 30m 52s
Overall Rank = /
Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 3/11
Pre-race routine:

drove forever to get there, greg pulled in while i was assembling betty.
Event warmup:

ran very little with greg, 1/4 mile? then rode a little more with dana 1 mile? ate a bakers breakfast cookie and had a bit of e gel, and peed 24 times.
Run
  • 25m 10s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 08m 07s  min/mile
Comments:

went out too fast as always, but felt good and strong
What would you do differently?:

not go out too fast(sounds the same after every race) and make sure i can get water at all the stations
Transition 1
  • 00m 56s
Comments:

my first multi event, but i felt like i did it well.
What would you do differently?:

i can't remember it well enough so it must have been pretty good, otherwise i'd remember
Bike
  • 38m 4s
  • 12.4 miles
  • 19.54 mile/hr
Comments:

not much, started off pretty fast but didn't drop my speed too much, the speed drop was only when the wind came accross the fields, so that was to be expected
What would you do differently?:

i need to ride more hills and when it's windy. learn to drink while biking and take in more gel, i had a squirt at the onset and then didn't take in anymore.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

maybe not sit down to put the shoes on? oh well, it wasn't for very long

Run
  • 00m
  • 3.1 miles
  •  min/mile
Comments:

SUCKED SUCKED SUCKED, running after biking HURTS, i felt like i couldn't keep a good pace, or a pace at all, was contemplating selling my bike, but it got a little better.
What would you do differently?:

positive thinking might have helped me here. i need to do more bricks, a lot more bricks.
Post race
Warm down:

what is a warm down, is that when you grab food and coke and sit down?

What limited your ability to perform faster:

lack of experience on the bike, It's the 5th time i've been on a road/tri bike on the road. lack of bricks in my workouts in ability to drink on the bike, i need an aero drinkything

Event comments:

i need to relearn how to drink on the run, i used to run much slower so it wasn't a problem, it's kind of a problem now.

Great job trixie. Did the bike ride seem short to you guys? My bike comp read just under 19K. Not that I'm complaining, or anything

i couldn't hook up my computer on my bike, so i had no idea the speed or distance while riding, maybe they added the extra distance to the first 5k, mine and fromers time were substantially different than what was posted at the race, like more than a minute different. so you were there, huh, did you do as well as expected?

I did way better than expected (due to my knee) on the first 5K, and the bike. I had to walk the last 5K because of my knee (which was not unexpected), so my time doesn't reflect the race I had.

congrats, and well done.  that is why i never ask people thier time, just how they did,  a 30 minute 5k for you might be great, but  a 40 minute 5k is great for people, too, just depends on the situation.  any other races in the area you plan on doing?  we would love for you to join the MI mafia, we'll overlook the whole canada thing
