Subject: Fall Races
With the tri season winding down I was wondering what everyone was planning for Fall. It's usually a time when a lot of people start into more run focused events. As I look ahead over the next few months, doing Hellrun October 1st and a half marathon near Lake Placid October 15th. I also plan on a few 5k and 10k's locally later in the month and in November. Any other HM or marathons coming up in the region?

The Portland marathon is Oct 7, I think.  I have a couple friends doing that one.  Seattle Marathon is at the end of November for the crazies.  Both of those have a half-marathon also.

I have been thinking of doing the Fort Steilacoom half-marathon in Oct, then the Seattle Marathon in Nov. Still haven't found anything for Dec, however I will hit up the off road Duathlon series in Jan & Feb.

In between it will be having fun on the mountain bike

My plan is to do the 10K at Ft Stielacoom on Oct 23rd. I had originally planned on doing the half marathon, but some injuries curtailed my distance training, and I don't want to push it. After that, we'll see. I prefer the warmer weather...

I'm also doing the Pineapple Classic 5K and the MVP 5K challenge @ Green Lake and probably a few other small races.

One of my favourite fall races is The Pumpkin Push 5K @Seward Park at the end of October.

I'm also doing Hell run, Gladiator run, pineapple classic as well as the Seattle 1/2.  That's a lot of running. Ack.

I am doing the Issaquah Salmon Days 10k on Sunday.

I am going to also do a thanksgiving Half Marathon run.  Not a formal race, but I think I am going to start making a tradition of it.  We live in Issaquah and have family in Ocean Shores and Bellingham.  No matter where we will be, there will a good route.  Mercer Island is 13 miles around the outside.  If we are at Ocean Shores, I will follow the "Ocean Shores Big Weekend Half Marathon" route, and if we are in Bellingham, I am going to map something out.  :D

Lake Padden Classic (half marathon trail run) and Seattle Marathon are the tops on the list.  Followed by Pineapple Classic, Gladiator Run and of course you've got to throw in a Jingle Bell Run in December.

Here's what else I have so far:

Fall Fowl Run 10k in Mt. Vernon 11/12
Turkey Trot 5k 11/19
Fairhaven Frosty 10k 12/3
Jingle Bell Run 4 miles 12/10

Probably wait and do a half marathon on January 8th at Lake Samish.
We are most fortunate to have so many options in the region.

Did you do the Born to Run race?  How was it?  Curious about Barefoot Ted--was he like he was in the book?  I was going to come and watch, but we had soccer etc....I missed a week being mommy and the family is wanting me around for some reason.    Hope it was fun, though!  I love Soaring Eagle.  Ran at the Redmond Watershed on Friday....it's another favorite venue.
