One of the things that actually appeals to me about the Democratic party is their fight for Privacy Rights.  Ugh

I know I know, if I don't have anything to hide I shouldn't be worried.  What's next, repealing the 4th Amendment?

Look at how easily the NDAA passed. It was one of the only bipartisan accomplishments of the last few years. That is far worse than this. As I have been saying, there is no difference between the parties.

My congressman, who happens to be a longtime friend voted for NDAA.  I called him, told him that I would never support him again and he gave me the party line.  I voted for his libertarian opponent but sadly he lost.  There is a difference between the two parties, the speed they are sending us down the crapper.  One is in a Lamborghini, the other is in a minivan.

You think so? I see this as more of an issue than class warfare or raising taxes/spending.

Sweet, he must follow BT and realized without our support it was doomed.

What's funny is I think this one for the most part had bipartisan opposition.

I liken this to the "I'm sorry that I got caught" apology.  How can you be 100% convinced something is the right things to do and then opposed to it because the voters are.  Didn't you ask the voters BEFORE proposing such stupid laws.

It is not about hiding anything, it is about living in a free society versus a policed society. Clearly we are becoming the latter.

We have been becoming the later, slowly, for a very long time.  The thing I find most ironic is the Hippie movement and the freedom of expression they demanded.  They didn't want to be controlled by "The Man".  Well now they are "The Man" and look how much more controlled we are.  It is the nature of the beast that people don't want to live by the rules of others but are perfectly happy to force others to live by their rules.
