I caught my neighbor the other day coming back from the store with 2 half racks of beer strapped to his Cannondale MTB. Maybe I should show him this video to give him ideas. The other neighbors recycling bin would make a horrific noise from all the empty beer bottles when the garbage truck came around. |

They obviously use glass for many food products, but you go through those over weeks/months. On fun afternoon and you go through 12-24 beer bottles. Wine, spirits, beer, if I think about it, would lead the use in bottles, no? Soda doesn't really use them, or water and such. They moved to plastic. So, why didn't they just use the city issued recycle containers at their house ? I don't know, ask them. Maybe they ARE trying to hide drinking problems or doing it for image. I'm just thinking that most of the glass recycling is probably booze bottles naturally and not some conspiracy to hide them. Ever see the incredible amount of glass a typical bar tosses (or sends to the recycle bin) on a weekend? Come to think of it. Bars/restaurants probably have recycling programs and that's where their bottles go - to the community recycle dumpster. They will generate more booze bottles in one night than your neighborhood will in a month. (But I don't know your neighborhood, so that's just an assumption). |
