Subject: How do you know you're DFL?1. Your bike is the only one left when you get to T1. (This has never happened to me, but hey, everything else has! )
2. You have a police motorcycle escort on the bike.
3. He says encouraging things to you as you huff and puff along.
4. There are no Gu/Gel etc. left at the aid stations out of T2.
5. After you pass the aid station, they start breaking it down.
6. They start breaking down the aid station BEFORE you get there, but kindly save some water for you.
7. More than one volunteer runs to the finish with you, cheering you on.
8. As soon as you cross the finish line, they start breaking that down as well.
9. Your bike is the only sign that there was a triathlon. All the racks, other bikes, etc. have long since disappeared.
10. You may be DFL but at least you were not DNF or DNS.
Most of this happened to me at my last race, TBF Oly at Rancho Seco.
